Minnesota (US) lawmakers Shot Overnight

2 lawmakers from the state of Minnesota were shot overnight in a
targeted attack.
Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and State Representative
Melissa Hortman, both members of the Minnesota
Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party.
No word yet on the condition of the lawmakers.

Updated: Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband
Mark were killed in the targeted attacks.
Minnesota State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife have undergone
surgery and reported to be alive according to CNN but their
condition is not mentioned.
Manhunt in underway looking for the suspect.
The suspect is described as male, wearing body armor and a blue
shirt and may have impersonated being law enforcement.

Suspect in Minnesota shootings identified as Vance Boelter.
"Boelter is 57 years old and according to a law enforcement
official, he works for a security company, Praetorian Guard
Security. The company website says that Boelter serves as the
director of security patrols and has had training by people in
the US military. "
"Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, are
both out of surgery and stable."
Police found a hit list in suspect's car with nearly 70
different targets.
"The names included abortion providers, pro-abortion rights
advocates, and lawmakers in Minnesota and other states, the
official added. Law enforcement also found a Father’s Day card
addressed to the suspect in a bag full of ammunition, the
official said.

gunman fatally shot the couple and mortally wounded their
beloved dog. And he was with them again Friday when the Hortmans
lay in state at the Capitol in St. Paul."
"He is all but certainly the first dog to receive the honor,
having been put down after being badly injured in the attack.
There is no record of any other nonhuman ever lying in state,
and Melissa Hortman, a former state House speaker still leading
the chamber’s Democrats, is the first woman."
