with explosions booming across Tehran as Israel said it targeted
nuclear and military sites."

Maybe this will be important enough for Tangerine Taco to stay
in Washington and pretend to guide the fate of the free world,
so he'll have to send an emissary to G7 on Sunday instead of
attending/embarrassing himself.

Iran summons Swiss ambassador to warn US over Israel's attack.
“It is unthinkable that the Zionist regime’s aggressive actions
against Iran were carried out without cooperation, coordination,
and at least a green light from the US, and in this regard, the
US must be held accountable for its illegal behavior in this
regard,” the Iranian representative told Nadine Lozano, the
Swiss Ambassador to Tehran, according to a statement published
on state run IRNA. "
Iran is likely to to start a large-scale retaliation.
"fueling nationalist sentiment, solidifying internal cohesion
and triggering a dangerous cycle of retaliation, all while
increasing the likelihood of American entanglement.”

Explosions heard in Tel Aviv as Iran launches counterstrikes on
Israel.
"Iran has fired hundreds of ballistic missiles toward Israel,
according to state media. The Israeli military said it
identified incoming missiles launched from Iran, and CNN has
heard explosions in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. "
"“More is on the way. The regime does not know what hit them, or
what will hit them. It has never been weaker,” Netanyahu said."

There's been speculation about an Israeli strike against Iran's
nuclear facilities for some time, years even, but I'd be really
surprised if the US was told about this raid until it was over,
or at least in progress.

Trump rejected an Israeli plan to kill Iranian leader, according
to two US officials.
"Over the weekend, a second senior US official told CNN, the
Israelis had an opportunity to kill Iran’s supreme leader. The
US communicated to the Israelis that President Trump opposed
that plan, the senior official said, and the plan was not
executed."

Some signs this could be escalating into something larger.
- Trump leaves G7 early to apparently rush back to Washington DC
- Trump directing his team to attempt a meeting with Iranian
officials as quickly as possible.
- Trump saying something much bigger was in the works." while
also warning Iranians to evacuate Tehran.
Another possible sign is the US military;
The USS Nimitz aircraft carrier on Monday was rerouted from the
South China Sea to the Middle East and should arrive by end of
the week.
Dozens of US Air Force refueling aircraft left US bases over the
weekend in new deployments to Europe to support any operations
in the Middle East, according to two defense officials, who were
granted anonymity to discuss internal operations.
2 US destroyers that were in the Mediterranean were ordered
closer to the middle east.

Trump's thinking is shifting toward using US military to strike
Iranian nuclear facilities, sources say.
"President Donald Trump is growing increasingly warm to using US
military assets to strike Iranian nuclear facilities and souring
on the idea of a diplomatic solution to end the escalating
conflict, two officials familiar with the ongoing discussions
tell CNN."

I don't believe much coming out of the US government at this
point. They can move carrier forces closer, deploy bombers
closer, increase surveillance, and say it's to protect traffic
in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Aden, but they don't want to
fight Iran. Iran is supported by Russia, and Trump is Putin's
bum boy. He'll give money and weapons to Israel to fight with
(and deny them from Ukraine at the same time) but he's happy to
let Israel do the fighting. They know what to hit and when,
they have their own deal with Saudi Arabia to use their airspace
to launch attacks from, they have the experience, (having struck
Iranian targets in Syria with impunity for years), and they'll
do it on their own without putting Trump in danger of failing.
If you had a secret plan, would you tell Donald Trump about it?
Israel has the bomb, but they don't want to use it. Iran would
like to have the bomb, but they don't quite have it, but they
could buy one from North Korea. It's like pulling a knife in a
bar fight, everyone jumps on the guy and beats hell out of him
(MAD). Netanyahu knows Trump inside out, got Kushner to move
the US embassy to Jerusalem, the usual military aid and more,
despite being branded suspect war criminal by the UN for the
intefadas, then later he earned a warrant from the ICC over the
genocide in Gaza. He's also been defending and dodging
corruption charges in Israel since long before Trump became a
politician, so he knows.
