"Carney clinched victory decisively, winning on the first ballot
with 85.9 per cent of the vote, in a race that was set in motion
earlier this year by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s
       resignation."

And rednecks and convoy meatheads and homophobes will be crying
the blues. I suppose it certainly could be worse, and as usual,
time will tell. He told Trump off first thing, which is nice,
and Chretien made a nice speech as well. Jean Chretien shares
my notion that we need an LNG pipeline to move gas to our
eastern ports for sale to Europe (he says Asia as well, but I
       say Europe first).

The next election is going to be interesting.
338 Canada still predicts the conservatives winning the most
seats but with a minority government but anything can change
       over the next 1-2 months.

Canada PM Carney to call for April 28 election on Sunday, Globe
       and Mail reports.

Hopefully the Liberals can at least win a minority government,
this would be a horrible time for a conservative government to
       be in power.

And as predicted, he called the election for Apr 28. I'm not
optimistic anything will change in my riding, Andrew Scheer
keeps getting elected in Regina-Qu'Appelle because they have
enough rural territory for the farmers to vote the Conservatives
in, even though I'm pretty sure not many votes in my poor
neighbourhood are for him. Scheer and 2 friends came to the
Hungarian Club for the buffet a couple of years ago, then they
sat in the bar at the next table and had a beer. Scheer was
facing me and I just sat there and glared at him while they
drank their beer, then they got up and left without having
another one. I may have to put up with him being my elected
representative, but I don't want him where I drink.

I am not sure how our riding will go as it's a newly created
riding and this will be the 1st election since the new riding
boundaries went into effect. Our new riding is made up of parts
of 3 former riding's, 2 had NDP MP's and our old riding was
Liberal MP so it might be NDP who wins this riding or Liberal,
hard to say, not likely to be conservative though.
I wasn't a fan of the Liberal MP we formerly had, his office
never sent me a letter of congratulations when I gained
       citizenship last fall. :P

You should have gotten one from the Prime Minister, for goodness
       sakes, for all it costs.

I would have just been happy with a flag or something. ha ha
The official citizenship certificate does have the signature of
the minister of immigration on it, I had a virtual ceremony, I
think they do more for in person like actually give people a
       small flag.
