He delayed the tariffs on Canada until April 2nd.
He seems to have turned his focus onto the EU for the time
being, threatening them with tariffs and claiming the EU was
created to screw the US.

He changed his mind again. Tariffs back for March 4th.

Dow tumbles 650 points as Trump confirms tariffs on Mexico and
Canada will start Tuesday.

His goal seems to be to force companies to manufacture in the
US.
“Tomorrow, tariffs — 25% on Canada and 25% on Mexico,” Trump
said during a press conference at the White House. “And that’ll
start. … What they have to do is build their car plants,
frankly, and other things in the United States, in which case
they have no tariffs.”
He said neither Mexico or Canada have room for negotiation and
he is using tariffs to punish countries he deems as taking from
the US but not giving.

The trade war has begun.

Canada took effect on Tuesday, an extraordinary action aimed at
bringing America’s top trading partners to heel. But it
threatens to weaken the North American economy, including that
of the United States, at a time of significant stress."
This is just pure lies in regards to Canada.
“While President Trump gave both Canada and Mexico ample
opportunity to curb the dangerous cartel activity and influx of
lethal drugs flowing into our country, they have failed to
adequately address the situation,” according to a statement
released by the White House shortly before the tariffs took
effect."

As of 5 days ago the drop in Tesla stock has reduced Musks
