       UK Walks Away From Trade Talks With Canada.

       When it comes to trade the annoyance other countries have always
       boils down to cheese it seems.

       Cheese is very important, lol.
       The Canadian Cheddar in the UK is very different to the cheddar
       available in Canada, strangely.. the Canada Cheddar in the UK is
       much better!

       I've never been fond of cheese in Canada, tastes funny to me. I
       haven't gone in years now, but I used to cross the border to get
       cheese and butter, I really like Tillamook cheese in the western
       US there is nothing comparable in BC stores.
       Tillamook is very popular with BC residents, probably one of the
       most bought items when cross border shopping along with butter.
       lol
       I haven't had enough UK cheese to form an opinion but what I
       have tried was always good.

       It's disappointing, but when time's up, the deal runs out, and
       it did.  I don't have a real problem with our dairy price
       controls and protectionism against the US, because the
       alternative is over production leading to dumping milk, which is
       wrong for several reasons.  I would like to see the deal renewed
       giving the UK a favoured nation discount on import duties for
       cheese and liquor, at least for another 3 years.  Let our cheese
       producers here catch up and start making more competitive
       cheeses, PC does a decent job of copying foreign cheeses, why
       not the others?  If you don't live near an independent cheese
       producer in Canada, you won't see anything out of the
       mainstream.  In Oliver the stores had cheese from maybe 4 or 5
       Okanagan producers, and most of the ones I tried were very good,
       in Regina not so lucky.
       What cheese I buy now is pretty well limited to what I see on
       Flashfood, and the regular price of UK and domestic cheese
       usually determines what the discounted price is, but not always.
       If it's more than a penny a gram I'm probably not buying,
       unless I want it for something specific, ie; if I have roast
       pork and ham, I may want Swiss cheese to make Cuban sandwiches.
