US secretary of state will travel to Israel.
"US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Israel in
the coming days "to engage our Israeli partners directly about
the situation on the ground" and to navigate how the US can
continue to support them, State Department spokesperson Matthew
Miller said Tuesday"
The Secretary of State is expected to leave Wednesday,
Washington DC time so arriving Thursday.
US engaged in contingency planning.
"“The president has also tasked us with engaging in contingency
planning for any and all escalation scenarios,” Sullivan said.
“And we are now deeply engaged in that planning. And we're
consulting with allies and partners as well about all of the
potential scenarios that might unfold in the days ahead.”
"US has enhanced "military force posture in the region" to
ensure deterrence"
"The Department of Defense has moved the USS Gerald R. Ford
Carrier Strike Group to the eastern Mediterranean and bolstered

American Airlines cancels Israel flights through December 4.
Delta has cancelled through the end of October.
The US Government is trying to encourage the airlines to resume
service, largely because there are few options for US Citizens
to leave at this point, but the US airlines don't seem willing
to risk it, plus at least the pilots union of American Airlines
has told it's pilots not to accept assignments to the country.
Israeli defense minister: "Gaza will never return to what it
was"
“Hamas wanted a change in Gaza, it will change 180 degrees from
what he thought. They will regret this moment. Gaza will never
return to what it was,” Gallant said, calling Hamas the "ISIS of
Gaza."
Rockets were launched from Syria into Israeli territory on

Ottawa to begin airlifting Canadians out of Israel in 'coming
days,' minister says.
Flights will be available to Canadian Citizens and Permanent
Residents.

The US is still sticking with telling people to find their own
way out, problem is all US airlines have suspended service and
there really is no way out at this point for most people
stranded there.

UN agency for Palestinian refugees seeks $104 million to respond
to situation in Gaza.
Israel forms emergency government.
Talks underway to allow US citizens and Palestinians to leave
Gaza.
"Talks are underway to allow United States and Palestinian
civilians in the Gaza Strip to exit the territory into Egypt
ahead of any land invasion of the territory by Israeli forces"
Under the proposed plan anyone who presents a US Passport would
be permitted to pass through the Rafah border crossing without
restriction.
The movement of Palestinian civilians without a US Passport
would be restricted to 2,000 people per day.
Final approval is needed from Egypt for the plan to move
forward, Israel say's it's in their best interest for as many
civilians to leave as possible prior to their ground invasion.
Sounds like this is going to get worse before it gets better.

Biden gave a bit of a "warning" to Iran today.
The US is "surging additional military assistance to the Israeli
Defense Force including ammunition, interceptors to replenish
the Iron Dome, we moved the US carrier fleet to the eastern
Mediterranean and are sending more fighter jets there, to that
region, and made it clear, made it clear to the Iranians – be
careful," Biden said.
"Federal agencies are warning of the potential of attacks in the
US following Hamas’s assault on Israel, citing the pervasiveness
of antisemitism in violent extremist groups."
"300,000 reservists were “close to the Gaza Strip.” The figure
includes “infantry, armored soldiers, artillery corps and many
other soldiers from the reserves,” Conricus said. "

Israel wasn't going to bargain Palestinian prisoners for
hostages, the last time they did that was over a soldier who had
been captive for years. What they are offering Hamas and Gaza
is a chance to turn the lights back on and let food through if
they release their hostages, the alternative being death. If
they want medical aid to get through, if they want humanitarian
corridors to let people out, if they want to stop the bombs and
shells from falling, they have to release the hostages.
Netanyahu and Likkud are solid gold in Israel all of a sudden,
so rumours that they knew the attack was about to happen (leaked
from Egypt) are believable. The tunnels that supply nearly
everything coming into Gaza begin in Egypt, so they would know
much of what and who was being transported.
"Israel said on Thursday there would be no pause in its siege of
the Gaza Strip for aid or evacuations until all its hostages
were freed, as Washington urged it to protect civilians and the
Red Cross warned of a humanitarian catastrophe in the enclave."

Humanitarian crises unfolding in Gaza.
At least 1,900 killed, that includes 614 children.
Over 7,600 people wounded.
20,000 US Citizens in Israel have contacted the US State Dept
since last Saturday, although not all have requested assistance
with leaving the country.
The US began flying US Citizens out today, presumably to Athens
as United and Delta have increased flights to Athens, Canada did
the same, flying to Athens and then Air Canada increased flights
from Athens to Canada.
US President Biden saying the US is working urgently to address
the Humanitarian crises in Gaza.
The US preps rapid reaction Marine unit for potential deployment
toward Israel.
"The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, a rapid reaction force
capable of conducting special operations, is making preparations
in case it is ordered closer to Israel to bolster the US’ force
posture there, multiple US officials tell CNN."
Moscow remains in contact with Hamas, Russian deputy foreign
minister says.
Jordan concerned about Israeli conflict spilling over into other
parts of the region.
US officials believe Israel became complacent about Hamas and
failed to recognize threats.
“There were numerous indicators of a change in posture generally
by Hamas and then pivoting both in public rhetoric and posture
more towards violence and attacks generally,” said one source
familiar with US intelligence.
“I think that it’s very possible, if not probable, that Hamas
vastly exceeded its own expectations,” the second person said.
“They thought, 'We would mount this assault and there would be a
couple dozen killed,' but never did they think it would rise to
the level it did.”
US intelligence warned of potential for Gaza clash in days
before attack.
“This is something that has historically been the norm between
Hamas and Israel. I think what happened is everyone saw these
reports and were like, ‘Yeah of course. But we know what this
will look like.’”
