Ottawa is probably pulling out of the deal they made with
Ontario for affordable housing, because Ontario hasn't built
many!

and this is why tent cities are springing up all over the
Province.. people can't afford to live anywhere - and greedy
landlords are not helping the issue.
"House for rent"
It's not a house, it's a duplex.
$2,800 a month - Main floor 1 or 2 bed - 60% share of utilities
$2,600 a month - Basement 1 or 2 bed - 40% share of utilities
shared outside space (or none) plus hot water heater rental.

Sounds like Ford is just trying to ignore the housing problem,
if the feds stop the funds, things will get a whole lot worse,
it's mind boggling the provincial government doesn't have some
sort of plan in place, unless the plan is to just make housing
even more expensive, but with Ford maybe that's the goal?
Not that it's good in BC but the provincial government here does
have plans and is building housing and more affordable units,
the problem is the population is growing faster than units can
be built.
I think in 10-15 years Canada will be mostly the housed who can
pay $2,000+ per month and the rest of us will be in tents or
vans or some other unstable housing, we are at the point now
where if you can't make $90k a year or more, there really is
nothing affordable rent wise, and make under $55,000/yr and
basically no rental housing at all in your price range.
Our unit is deemed affordable but still is $1,650 per month, we
will have about $700 left to pay all bills and buy food with in
April, it's not enough, so we will skip grocery shopping.
