BC is stronly reccomending parents get their kids the flu shot
and will be opening vaccine clinics to make it easier, currently
only 20% of kids under 11 and 15% of teens have gotten a flu
shot.
Influenza A is the primary influenza strain going around.

it's stable week to week but not really going down, waste water

The only time my Dad got flu was after he had the flu vaccine..
the same with my estranged partner.. (and then passed it onto
me)
I don't think I'll ever get one.
They are now calling influenza an epidemic in Canada - SIGH..
drama drama drama.

My doctor recommended I get the flu shot after I turned 60, so
I've had 9 of them now, and haven't had a serious flu since. If
I do catch it when everyone else is laid low, it's very slight
so it really works.

over healthcare.

I can't tell if the pain I am having on the left side is pain
from my colon or pain from the hernia, the last couple of weeks
the pain started could be the hernia on that side finally
deciding to cause pain, maybe gotten worse, who knows, I can
feel anything, but the pain is annoying.

Trudeau says giving provinces what they want won't improve
health-care system.

A disagreement over funding prevented any progress at a meeting
in Vancouver last month.
Provinces want more federal funding to improve healthcare,
federal government wont provide more funds unless certain
conditions are met such as increasing access to family health
services, but many provinces struggling to do this with the
current level of funding.
BC has greatly overhauled the way family doctors are paid and
will lead to better compensation for family doctors, the hope is
this will attract doctors to work in BC and new graduates to
choose family medicine. (not sure what other provinces are
doing.)
At least Trudeau admits the system is broken.

It's basically at the point of if you can walk, talk just call
uber because it's probably faster than getting an ambulance,
hopefully nobody died from the long waits and understaffing.
Paramedics are not paid well in comparison to other healthcare
jobs, and they are struggling to fill positions because the pay
is just too low compared to the cost of living and people are
not going to enter a profession where they will struggle to pay
rent in the region they are, same thing in many professions now,
Air Canada can't fill ramp positions even at $23/hr and
Translink struggles to find bus operators even at their $25.70
to $36 per hour pay scale.
Tis be what happens when housing becomes unaffordable.

Young People?

Myocardial infarction (MI) was once thought to be an issue for
the elderly. A heart attack in someone under the age of 40 was
extremely uncommon, but now one in every five-heart attack
patient are under the age of 40.
The rate of heart attacks in those under 40 has been growing at
a rate of 2% per year since 2000.

Some cancers as well are increasing in young people, colon
cancer for example is increasing in younger people.
