Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Independent School
District police have apparently stopped cooperating with Texas
state law enforcement on the investigation.

I admire Canada for implementing the removal of 'machine
gun/assault' types of weapons from the general public, and
limiting 'repeater' to 5 bullets.. hand guns are also being
removed. There is no need for any non-military to have 'machine
gun' AR types of weapons.
The regulations in place to obtain a gun license have been quite
restrictive for a while, but are apparently going to be
tightened even more.

introduction of new legislation to further strengthen gun
control in Canada and keep Canadians safe from gun violence.
Bill C-21 puts forward some of the strongest gun control
measures in over 40 years.

> Implementing a national freeze on handguns to prevent
individuals from bringing newly acquired handguns into Canada
and from buying, selling, and transferring handguns within the
country.

> Taking away the firearms licenses of those involved in acts of
domestic violence or criminal harassment, such as stalking.

> Fighting gun smuggling and trafficking by increasing criminal
penalties, providing more tools for law enforcement to
investigate firearms crimes, and strengthening border security
measures.

(there's more)

will require long-gun magazines to be permanently altered so

Code.

In how many of these mass shooting events was the shooter a
member of a 'well-regulated militia'?

Sadly I don't believe that a solution, or even partial solution
will ever be found.
Too many guns, too many people obsessed with guns, too many
drugs, etc.

No meaningful reform can be done until the constitution is
amdended but that is pretty much impossible to do in the current
political climate, as long as the 2nd amendment exists, the
courts will overturn laws deemed too harsh as violating it.

And so more guns are sold, more guns are used and the whole
vicious cycle goes on.

Hold on! Surely the answer is to allow more people to carry
concealed weapons....... after all, what you can't see, can't
harm you - can it?!!

Truly, the USA has deep, deep issues that they show no will to
resolve.
