Russia moving into Ukraine = bad. Israel doing the same for
many years in Palestine = ?

I didn't want to divert the Ukraine thread, and I'm unsure the
thread title is reasonable, but Irish politician Richard Boyd
Barrett has a point in my opinion.

There is a longstanding history of support for Palestine from
the Republican left - and Ireland has actually enacted policies
which have met fierce criticism from Israel. The linkage of a
struggle for self-determination is clear.

Then there is an old song "An Phailistín" by an irish-language
singer, Roisin Elsafty, the daughter of an Egyptian surgeon, who
was supported by Sharon Shannon (Galway Girl) and donal Lunny
(Planxty). The song went viral a few years back:

Finally, though I'm not a lover of TikTok, this almost makes it

Yeah, but those Palestinians. I mean, when have you ever heard
one speaking English, no blue-eyed blondes and those iffy all

Yeah. Mind you, most of the people I've encountered in real
life who would be saying that in a serious tone, can barely
read, speak and write decent English (or any other language)
either... :p

I was in town yesterday and went for a pub lunch.
I caught part of a conversation between two fine examples of
tattoo-clad beardies at the next table, obviously taking a short
break from their important work as rocket scientists:
"Yeah, but, you know, like, these Russkis, they're all the same
on both sides, aren't they - can't see the problem really. Nice
girls in Ukraine though, shame. .............They've got guts
though."
His mate replied "Yeah, did you see those students complaining
about being trapped in the east? Well, I mean, if they've got
money to go travelling to Russia, they should have thought...
all the same, me, me, me - like those idiots taking the knee and
that".
Then the conversation returned to how sh*t Ipswich town were
these days and hopes that Norwich would stuff up their match
against Brentford**.
Obviously 24-hour news is improving knowledge all over......

It's amazing that for all man's advances in the medical fields
they still haven't worked out how to educate stupid.
