Something I've always wanted to do....

Ever since I started doing minecraft multi-player. I always
thought of how awesome it would be to run my own server someday.
And well, recently things in my life might make that possible
for me to do. I'm going to attend an advanced technology program
at a local community college in my town. And I may be getting
job soon. With both of these events I could learn how to use
bukkit properly and be able to pay for server hosting.
Now I'm not stating I am indeed making one yet. but it is an
idea i'm considering, I'm gonna study over bukkit intensely
before I do anything. Learn how it works and memorize it. And
I'll try hunting down a good server host ( I may jut go with
creepercraft cause it does a pretty good job with BC) But yeah,
I do plan on someday starting one. And I can learn how to
operate the sever properly and such through experimentation.
My only request is that if I do make one in the near future if
it could possibly be like a sister server to BC here. Sorta as a
place to start, It would be survival based because I can't stand
PvP focused servers and such.
But regardless. I do intend on starting my own server someday.
And If I do and BC is still up and running (which I'm sure it
will be) I would like to affiliate my server with BC if that be
possible XD.
I'm just rambling now so i'm gonna just cut it off here. Just
wanted to talk bout dis idea I had :3

Well, good luck with it and maybe someday, if ID ever retires,
you could be the owner of the server. :)

Nice idea lumpy. Good luck :D
But as another idea more than a sister server to BC a "training
server"? So people will join yours instead of BC then from there
they can get the ip of BC. AND before they BC ip is given to the
new player they should be monitored or somewhat watched to make
sure they don't cause trouble.

And have BC white-listed? and each player that "passes" gets
onto the list?

I find this more as a "NO GO". It seems to look more like
advertising using flavoring words.
There isnt such thing as a sister server.. you either join
server A or join server B.
BC is already Survival with Pvp Selected Zones.
If running bukkit and learning it is what you want to do. Talk
to ID about it, he possibly may want extra hands to help on
plugin management.
Multiverse is an option...
