A different type of Server, Please?

A few BeardedCrafters and I have been playing on a tekkit
Server. This server was really crappy and it had most of it's
items disabled and stuff don't work. I think Bearded Craft
should have a Tekkit server or maybe a Feed The Beast server or
something at least.

BeardedCraft could also make a star made server cause of its
growing popularity.

Yup, it could have a tekkit, feed the beast, hunger games,
creative, rpg, PvP, etc...but it doesn't...cause its a survival
server. The owner, as well as the staff and 99% of the players
here are happy with it that way. Sorry you are not. The only
real cures to this problem as I see it are...hook us up with the
flow to run 2 servers, or go, play on your tekkit.server and
leave our "crappy" server.

I think when he said this "crappy" server, he meant the tekkit
server Rabid.

While I definitely agree with rabid's assertion that
BeardedCraft should remain strictly a survival server, the idea
of gathering some BC players and hitting up some other, more
specialized servers or other games is a good one.
LazyLilith and I have been playing on a fairly active StarMade
server that is incredibly entertaining.
For those of you who aren't aware, StarMade is essentially the
bastard child of FTL, Minecraft, and Kingdom Hearts's Gummi Ship
mechanic.

What it really comes down to is... Mike does not pay $30+ a
month for people to go play on other servers owned by other
people. :P
Sure, the community may have met on BeardedCraft; but when the
actual server is at zero 24/7... Why keep it up?
This is why we discourage advertising other servers that will
forever remain un-official.
If we cannot keep our player-base gradually growing or stagnant
at the very least, we will never survive.
This is why we introduce new content in the server that is voted
on to add more spice to the game while not overdoing it.
It is a nice idea,
But we currently only have an alliance with ourselves and having
our player-base stray away puts us in the opposite direction of
where we need to be.
I dunno' about you guys, but it is hard to imagine a second life
without BeardedCraft.

With that,
We do still have many plans yet for the server also involving
growing our player-base even more.
But with under 10,000 people... We are still not that big of a
server. We are nowhere close to fan-servers.
A fan server of a server is a bit ridiculous anyways, is it not?
;)
Silly yes; and has been brought to our attention quite a few
times.

Another thing to note is, while a Survival FTB Mindcrack server
would be amazing to have, all the features it adds to the game
not only would the server have to be way more powerful then a
standard minecraft server, the performance requirements also
have to be met on the client end, with our member's needing
better computers.
With how often i see complaints from people about lag and
whatnot, i doubt their computers would handle that type of
server well.
I know not everyone has an high performance capable computer,
even though many people seem to not realize that running hd
texturepacks and max settings in minecraft on a shitty laptop is
only going to cause it to heat to the point of failue, or maybe
just dont care, but either way, the more complex things you add
to the game, the better the people playing need their computers
to be, and many just dont have the money to buy a $1000 desktop
computer.
So in closing, not only would our player base have to be much
bigger to support another server, but those players would have
to be more dedicated to their computer usage, meaning they put
in the money to buy a good computer.
