Shops, I'm still a little outdated due to my recent absence on
whats going on, but if shops still exist players could waste
cash on diamonds and basically be safe from the money wipe if it

The server shops were removed, and replaced with two simpler
shops that buy only, so there's currently no unlimited source of
diamonds. The only way to obtain them is to buy them from other
players or mine them, and honestly with the threat of a money
wipe on the horizon, I can't see players selling very many of
their diamonds.

Snowy, I'm gonna have to agree with you. I would understand
you not wanting to give up money that you got legit, But some
people who abused them and got millions upon millions of
dollars. I'm not saying any names but I think that's why the
server crashed earlier today. Maybe a staff member found a
destroyed desert and tried to roll it back, causing a ton of
lag. I usually don't get millions. The most I've ever gotten was
5 million and that was selling my Ziu Armor and Ziu Sword.
And with that money, I bought diamonds for my Memorial Day
Diamond Run event. Now maybe we should have a money reset so we
can try to earn money legit with the new resources shop to sell
our stuff. But I have a really good question. Because
BeardedCraft is trying to be "legit", why can't we get paid for
a job we do? Just a suggestion. But if anything, BeardedCraft is
somewhat legit, unlike some servers who have d*** staff and
trolling owners.
I'm pretty sure people like Tunnler and Zim got a ton of
money with the jobs plugin. Over $10,000,000+ which is crazy
stupid. I honestly wouldn't mind giving up all my money so the
server can have a fresh start. Some people on the other hand
would be a bit hesitant but they could go for it. And others
would freak out.
Now I'll admit the highest level miner I was when jobs was
around was 85, and that's when I wasn't on an all day mining
trip, mining out all the stone and other resources, killing the
land. Now I got a little over $200 for each iron ore I mined
which I even though was a little bit OP, but since it seemed no
one was abusing jobs at the time, I though it was a bit normal.
Now some people (names I'm not saying), they would do nothing
but their job all day and all night, pretty much all the time.
Now a person got the same level miner as me and he joined the
job the same day and I'm like WTF REALLY?
But on the other hand, market wasn't at all abused unless you
count putting overpriced items on there. Then it may count. But
it seemed people looked like they were happy with the new Market
plugin. People were confused at first how to use them but it got
around. I don't know who crashed the server on purpose for the
plugin to be removed but I'm pretty sure Nick has talked to that
certain person.
Now with some things. I'm for the money wipe. Xume, maybe we
should have a money limit for everyone so no one is more OP than
the other. Maybe a 5m cap? I don't know. Maybe Nick and the
other staff can discuss that. But maybe for the shops, maybe
Nick can decide if you can buy stuff such as stone, cobble,
wood, etc for building projects. For stuff like quartz, they
must explore new chunks which is not that hard to do. Iron
blocks for trains or hotels is very easy to find with iron ore
to smelt, which coal can be used as a smelting product.
That's my say. So let's just let the debate run.

I was referring to my two stone brick huts I built inside of it.
:P Not actually Rabisle as a whole; which is actually very nice.
@Snowy,
Yes you are correct; which is causing this hesitation to reach a
more-fair arrangement.
@Xum,
At this time, I am not sure if wiping only the balances of a
player is possible as I assume they are logged in the player's
profile.
I will look into it, but if we do go through clearing balances a
little more than balances might be changed.
& When/if the wipe comes, not announcing it prior might solve
some of the wealth-transfer issue.
@Dan,
With a fresh start, everyone becomes on equal grounds again and
the market will feel competitive, once again.
& Getting paid for what you do then selling it off a second time
around is what caused the inflation so heavily. At this time, I
do not see that system returning.

I do know that there is a plugin that pays you like $6 for
killing a mob. (different mobs are more) Maybe this would be a
good suggestion?

When I got to this server oh so long ago it seems, I had 5 jobs.
1) Diggin up dirt, gravel and sand then sellin em
2) diggin up stone and ores
3) Choppin down trees and sellin the wood
4) killin mobs and selling their loot
5) Building houses and selling them
Hmmmmm I got paid (received money) for all of them. Hell, to be
honest, I didnt even start a job til LONG after the plugin was
installed. But I made alot of money, doing jobs, with out the
plugin...why is this so foreign to yall?? I know most of the
players on this thread have been around almost as long if not
longer than I have. you remember a time when /jobs wasnt
around...did ya botch bout not havin it then??? no yall did not.
you did the same thing I was doing.
Now, all this bullshit about the server shop being gone...I have
been more than willing to buy almost anything you come to me to
sell, as have a couple other well known players. I know I dont
have signs for it, but I have never turned down a chance to
haggle with yall. hell, Im infamous for it. Ive seen 2 players,
one has already been mentioned buyin out diamonds, even taking a
loss and buyin em at a higher rate than he sells them for. The
other, I am going to talk to. RabIsle WILL NOT be restocking its
sell signs for the simple reason of people stockpiling stuff
JUST to gain an unfair advatage over others. That will cause the
same problems as the /jobs did.

I agree to a money wipe to an extent that not all is remove from
my balance since I have earned some of it through selling wool
from my new shop and from the lottery. Though I didn't exactly
"earn" the lottery money I wouldn't give it back :P and the new
shop is quiet lucrative so I may have to halt the selling of
wool till a money wipe is decided or not. sorry everyone :P
And yes I do not believe I have "earned" any money through the
use of /jobs, because had I "earned" it I wouldn't so easily
give it up. BC basicly said here is /jobs go make money while
you play. /jobs is a nice plugin but it doesn't exactly live up
to its name, it is more of a /freehandout then a /job and that
doesn't an economy make.

Too bad that last part already happened, mainly 3 players
apparently bought every sign on the entire server out because
they think balances are going to be wiped, making the shop owner
lose their stock and money(if it is wiped) , effectively KILLING
the buying side of the economy....

Just to throw my 2 cents into the mix.
The ideas for the economy are great. Were the jobs unexpectedly
exploited? Yes! Did ppl make millions and inflate the economy?
Yes How do you correct inflation? Stop adding money to the
economy. The Server Shop needed to be removed to stop the influx
on more money into the economy along with the jobs. A plus to
this is it encourages more player interactions and dependencies.
Which in turn will create a stronger community. I believe Jobs
will return as soon as the staff can find a suitable replacement
or fix the current one to prevent this from happening again.
I those who knowingly took advantage of these exploits are lucky
to still be with us. The proper and BeardedCraft way would have
been to report it right away.
My story: I was always a miner and made just under 2million
doing so honestly. When we were able to have two jobs I became a
Farmer. While farmer I never realized and exploits and actually
noticed many crops i had wasn't paying out.... and I brought
that to the admins attention.
I've made all my money honestly and I dont want to loose it, but
I feel a wipe is the only fair way to correct the present
issues.
