Loosing materials to clag is a separate issue. I know you don't
think it is, but it is. It's two different exploitation
problems that don't necessarily have the same answer.
What you're referring to is things like the stripped desserts..
yes? Loosing materials to clag isn't a real big deal, if it
doesn't destroy the map. A good example is the huge sugarcane
farm Asteria has. We can mow it down, throw away sugarcane, and
there's no damage done to the map. No desserts stripped, no
mountains mowed down.
I'll try to get into my bukkit account and see what I can come
up with later today.. but capping the amount of cash a player
can earn per day via jobs will solve the problem of excess funds
flooding the economy. No matter how much a player makes by
breaking blocks, there will be people who will mow through
deserts and the like to get money. It'd be less, but they'll
still do it. So something else will need to be figured out to
protect the BeardedCraftian environment.

The problem with this solution is they'd just pick it up and
throw it back down =/

Yes the Digger job was massively abused and large amounts of
land were leveled flat or huge holes were dug with no purpose
other then to collect money. A large farm that is active is
fine.

So like the miner job, placed blocks dont give you Exp/money
when mined. I'm looking into it now but i think its different
with plants.

We need to nerf the abused jobs (Digger and farmer from what I
know) TO ALL HELL! Then reset the economy. I thought of working
on sandsail again, but guess what? The entire area around it was
obliterated, mass digging, literally entire DUNES dug out, and
just an ugly mess. And with this issue on farmers and
sugarcane.... Yeah well...
My ideas are this:
Put regulation on items that can be used for get rich quick
schemes. (i.e. Sugarcane, enchanted books with things like
efficency, etc.)
Teleport to players we know abuse this system regularly, and
just overall make our rounds more often on the server.
And players who are discovered to be abusing this system, I say
they get a 3 day ban. If we make heavy punishments for it, less
likely people will take the risk.
This may seem harsh, but these are ways we could prevent another
Rampant Economy.
And to daniel. I would say the same level for ALL. Cause the
biggest offenders from what I've read for mass digging are VIPS
except for a few. So having a HIGH vip max level will basically
not fix the problem.
And by regulation, I mean like monitoring how much player shops
sell sugarcane for. Cause if it's dirt cheap and a farmer buys
it, they just have to place it and break it repeadetly to make
money. It's basically a mobile money print in a way. And things
like books that give OP ENCHANTS should be monitored as they
tend to be sold off from what I see in chat. Perhaps not letting
players sell off thigns like efficency IV, but allow them to
sell off things like effecincy II for example. (If you get the
enchant yourself through luck good for you! No regulation on
that :P!)

What plug in do we use now? We could try a new plug in and reset
everything. We can do a trial run for a few days and if it
doesn't work the way Nick and Mike want, they just reset the
cash and try another system. It would give them time to do other
bug fixing or searching as well, while keeping the members
occupied and relatively happy. The plug in might work better and
we can just stick with it from there. Good idea or bad idea?
