8) Just wanted to say that I think that this is such an awesome
server. I have spent several days on it and everyone gets along
so well. I have met quite a few of you and you all have been
very friendly and fun to be around. It feels like I finally
found a server to call home again. Thanks :)

Speaking as a former server owner/renter, I don't quite get how
services can get away with such shoddy service.
My first server was with Daddycheese. They were good at first,
but our world kept corrupting and eventually they just didn't
want to know. What was once 20 minutes to answer a support
ticket became 2 days, when you're paying good £££ for a server
to have 99% uptime it's frankly unacceptable.
After persisting with that server for about 5 months, we
switched over to MCNode. Same story as Daddycheese - brilliant
at first, but so effing noobish... I promise you now, one of
their techies once replied to a ticket that he didn't know how
to solve that problem as he didn't play Minecraft. Once more,
the server got shelved and that was that.
How hard can it be to find a soddin' server host that is
reliable, doesn't eventually turn into a giant douchebag
interface and just WORKS? >_>
Don't mind my rant, just hoping to share my frustrations with
the staff; I feel your pain brothers and sisters - I feel it
right here. Tis why I've been quite patient - it's been nowhere
near as bad as we had it in the past, or at least not from what
info you guys have passed on thus far!

I agree MoD. I use to own a hosting company; I would have NEVER
EVER dreamed doing this to my customers. The only situation we
had with anything like this was when our ENTIRE rack was down
but our data center gave us a month credit; we extended that to
our customers so no one had to pay anything that month.

I'm curious now all of a sudden. Why did you start a hosting
company? I assume it's not in operation any more, what happened?

Also could you maybe shed some light on why so many companies
keep springing up and folding in rapid succession?
If these questions strike a nerve or are a little close to heart
then by all means, please disregard my query.

My company still exists; we just do consulting and project
management now (helping people make their ideas work by managing
the project for them or providing them help with managing their
community or customer service). As for why we stopped hosting;
it was not profitable. I think a lot of folks think that they
can just set up a company and make money. There is a lot more to
it; customer service ensuring thinks work, managing your
network. It is not just a set up and go job.

All in all, I appreciate everyone's patience here.
As I have told Josh, I'm not expecting any fancy bells and
whistles to come into play until tomorrow morning, at the least.
That's assuming Avante pulls it together; or even replies to me
directly - Not just making hit and runs with the server
forcefully killing it for failed trial and errors.
I am doing everything on my end to ensure we proceed long into
the future, and that goal will never change. All starting with
restarting the server after every crash; seemingly getting
worse.
If Josh is truthful, as I'm quite sure he is, on what Avante's
empire is built up of; rest assured this will be the final month
I, we, support their efforts to support us.
