[IMPORTANT] Moving Over Protection(s)

Your builds' safety, and the Staff's responsibility both
will now get MUCH easier starting on Monday, next week.

Being implemented on Monday, you, the player, will be given the
powers to protect your own builds yourself, decide who else can
build with you, and set the flags for that region yourself --
Whether it be allowing PVP or just preventing leaf decay.
How?
With GriefPrevention.
With GP, we'll be abandoning WorldGuard for many practical
reasons; making GP available to selective Groups and/or users.
On this day too, the possibility of seeing a CLAG removal might
also be put in effect.
* However, a replacement plug-in providing certain qualities is
still necessary, at the least.
By then, I'm hoping we'll be upgraded with a player-base cap of
at least 64, being able to manage so much more.
__________
So if you have a build that will need protection, you have 7
full days to read up onto how!
:)

While this is a potentially helpful power to give players and
allow staff a bit of a reprieve, I'd be a bit wary. I didn't
read all of what that link you provided says, so I may have
missed something, but how do you prevent players from abusing
this power?
I can see people protecting unnecessarily huge areas of land,
entire islands, leaving very little room for new players to set
up homes. Is there a maximum space allotment tool built into
this thing? And if it's possible to flag these areas as PvP,
will there be some kind of warning so that those just wandering
in don't end up dead?
...food for thought.... :)
(Edited to add: This may be me worrying for no reason at all.
For all I know, there's fail-safes built in already. Remember,
I've only been playing MC for two weeks, and I haven't left the
server, so all I know, I've learned from it and the members.)

@Ellunas: According to the Bukkit page, there is a maximum
allotment for protected areas given to a player based on the
amount of playtime they have on the server. Also, any claim
beyond their first requires a golden shovel, so it isn't
*completely* free.
And no, there aren't any entry/exit messages for claims, PvP or
otherwise. The plugin developer noted that at the end of the
description.

Ahh, okay. Thanks for that, Xum.
(Next time I'll be sure to read the entire source before
commenting on it. I thought I'd read the relevant bits, but
apparently not.)
