Week 5
Theme : [size=14pt]Lighthouse
Size : 20x20
Blocks banned : None
Specifications : Basicly a high structure with a decent light
source on top. Don't be afraid to think outside the box[/size]
The real challenge here is to make it stand out, because it's
pretty easy to make a normal lighthouse.
You have 1 week to build it, from Monday Oct. 6th - Saturday
Oct. 11th
The voting period will start on Friday Midnight EST

Buildoff Arena Update!
After a few weeks of hosting the building competition, Pan and I
have decided to make it even better! :D
- Moved to its own world, in creative
- More plots (32 instead of 24)
- Bigger plots (41x41 instead of 20x20)
- Easier voting (Sign a book and name it with the number of the
plot you're voting for, with the rest being optional)
You still throw it in the vote hopper in front of the plot
you want to vote for, they're all placed in groups of 4, at the
intersections.
- Easier navigation (You spawn in the middle, plots all around
and their numbers are in the sky)
Plots are in 8 groups of 4, each group having a letter and
each plots having a number (ex: D2)
- Maps around spawn to show the numbers better
- Added a tag system, to specify what I expect (ex: Huge build,
colorful, pixelart) along with the theme
- More winner plots, you can see the last 4 winners builds
- Suggestion hoppers, both for the prizes and the themes. Be
sure to include everything needed.
Prizes will still be given in survival, but I don't plan on
giving as many prizes as before, starting by removing the
builder helmet after a couple more weeks. I don't want them to
be too common :p
The rules didn't really change. No griefing, stealing
ideas/copying/following tutorials, respect the specifications
under "Theme", no building out of the plot, no teamwork. I added
that the plots must stay anonymous.
But if /warp buildoff gets moved to there, what happens to the
old arena??
Well, a lot of people (including me) were just pvping in there
when they got bored. So, in about a week from now, I plan on
turning pvp on in the whole arena, and have all the plots wiped.
That means, if you have stuff in the arena, go take it down and
bring the stuff home. Protections will stay, so you can freely
build some defences. It'll basically be an "everchanging
customizable pvp arena" that everybody can build together. The
server rules still apply in it.
It'll now be /warp PvP_Buildoff

great in a desert.
You have 1 week to build it, from Monday Oct. 13th - Saturday

Since I participated, I couldn't use my vote to determine the
third place. I got the "breaking" vote from Fluff to choose the
third place between Kitty, Alt, Passy and me.
