I saw plenty of Schierholz when I was living in SF. Never
thought much of him as a hitter, but if he sucks defensively
       now, it's a new thing. He was always rock-solid, and A T & T is
a damn tough RF to play.

but I don't see it. Won't be called an error, but he should
have caught that ball. He seems way to nonchalant out there.

I've heard that one big issue he had in San Francisco was he
played a very deep RF . . . and most would say too deep.

Down 4 runs in the 9th, Rizzo almost gets doubled off first on a
flyout to the track in RF. There are no words for how poorly
this team is playing fundamentally right now.

At least he recognizes the problem.

So does every beer vendor at Wrigley.
Unless Sveum figures out how to correct the problem, and then
DOES SO, the beer vendors may actually be providing more value
       to the organization.
Certainly Theo and Hoyer should not be evaluating Sveum based on
the team's W/L record in 2012 or even in 2013, but they should
without question be evaluating him based on how well he develops
the talent provided on the roster, helps the organization create
value, changes the culture and gets the guys to play
fundamentally sound baseball in what has been identified as the
new "Cubs way," which includes grinding out at bats. The season
is still young, but so far it has not appeared as if he is doing
       very well there.

Nice diving play by Schierholtz. Glad to see him do that.

The kids come through at the plate with 2 outs in the third:
Castro with a line single and Rizzo with a HR. Rizzo has been
all or nothing this year. 60 AB, 6 HR, but only 12 hits to go
       with 17 Ks.
Something tells me he won't have 1/2 of his hits be HRs at the
       end of the season.

The Cubs might have the worst fielding pitchers in baseball.

Hey, stop me if you've heard this one before. Cubs get the
lead. Cubs play sloppy baseball. Cubs lose the lead.
