Not many Cubs participating in the WBC, which is fine with me.

Apparently, he did...as I was typing up the last post, MLB Trade
Rumors posts that he's agreed to a $10.25 million deal.

Garza's contract is "only" a $750K raise over 2012. Even with
the half-season injury, that's a pretty favorable deal for the
Cubs. That may be a good sign for eventually signing him to an
extension if he shows he's healthy.

Cubs have settled with Samardzija and Russell, so no arbitration
hearings this year. No terms yet.

Samardzija at $2.64 million; Russell at $1.075 million. Sounds
about right for Russell, but I would've thought Samardzija
would've gotten more.
Just read a tweet that says Samardzija made the same salary last
year. Wow, that's really good.

I read a quote from Soriano from the convention where he says he
wants to finish his career with the Cubs. If the Cubs try to
trade him, it sounds like it's going to take some convincing for
him to go.

Small smattering of boos for Marmol and one or two for Sori at
convention. #Cubs

Why boo Marmol? He agreed to the trade.
Why boo Soriano? He blew a WS ring.
