Me thinketh that the "Bears brass" will be traveling with Emery
too to interview McCoy. (I hope so)

You can bash Cutler all you want about his
attitude...mechanics...whatever. The bottom line is he's the
best we've had in nearly 30 years. I can live with his issues.

       Agree!

More on this Trestman guy via Twitter:
       - He was Cutler's QB tutor before he was drafted, and he also
worked with Russell Wilson when he was transitioning out of
       baseball to football.
       - He also worked with Tim Tebow before he was drafted
       (hmmm...)... and Jason Campbell
       - Although he's employed by the Montreal Alouettes, he lives in
North Carolina. So it may be they're gonna make a quick pass
through there today on their way from Tampa to Denver.
       - He was the playcaller for the 49ers the year Jerry Rice went
for almost 1,900 yards and 15 TDs.
My thinking -- and I would wet myself if this came to pass -- is
that Emery & Co. plan to hire either McCoy or Arians as the HC
and make Trestman an offer he can't refuse to be the OC/QB
coach. Which would likely leave Bates out in the cold but to be
honest I'm not sure he really earned his keep this last year.
I've been wondering if Bates and Cutler are maybe TOO
buddy-buddy to the point Bates won't get in Cutler's grill when
needed... and if Emery sees it the same way that could lead to
       Bates shipping out.
The question would be if Trestman would step down from a HC gig
in the CFL to be an OC in the NFL.

That name kinda rings a bell. Wasnt he associated with the Bears
before? The name sure sounds familiar.

I'll say Emery is thorough. He's even looking at guys outside
       the U.S.

       I'm telling you...
McCoy as HC, Trestman OC, Tebow as the #2 QB with a whole red
zone "sub-offense" designed just for him.
       How fun would that be?

Probably except for Clements I'd guess we are likely done after
       McCoy

I like the idea of Emery interviewing some of the "lesser"
       candidates first.
He is a first time GM, it give him a few rounds to go before he
gets into the guys he thinks he likes better.
I think it makes him better prepared.

Exactly, and even if some of these guys we're talking to aren't
legitimately on the short list he can still be picking their
brains for ideas, seeing how they assess the quality of our
roster, possibly getting leads on coordinators or position
       coaches, etc.

As much as McCoy as HC and Trestman as OC sounds great, it
should be McCoys decision who HE wants as OC. Just saying.
