I'm like some of you guys, not sure about that Tampa connection.
I didn't like it when Angelo came here..

ummmm.... I didn't make an excuse for anyone.

Trying to compare PEYTON MANNING to Jay Cutler was a bit over
the top for me. When you said "how come no one bash Peyton's
mechanics but Cutler" sounds like excuse making to me. Who here
cares about Manning? We should be concerned with Cutler. Hell
I hope Manning gets knocked out in the next round!
I do hope Cutler does become that franchise QB we wanted for
years.

If Phillips and George tag along with Emery tomorrow we just
might have a quick end to our HC search tomorrow.
They may make the offer tomorrow and McCoy may even accept, but
I'm not sure what league rules are as far as announcing it. If
it's McCoy or Arians they might be required to keep the
announcement under wraps until their respective teams have
finished their playoff runs. I'm not sure.
Also I would be surprised if they don't follow through on the
interviews with Arians and Clements. That just seems like good
due diligence. IIRC the Arians interview is happening sometime
next week and who knows with Clements as I'm sure our friends up
north will try to push that one out as far as possible.
I'm also seeing some tweets just now from the beat blogger on
ESPN Chicago inferring that the Bears have an interest in Marc
Trestman, a renowned QB guru who has been doing pretty well up
in the CFL. IIRC his name surfaced before with the Bears during
the OC search that ultimately wound up with us hiring Martz.

It was said somewhere I read that the Bears were supposed to get
a long interview tomorrow with McCoy. Does that mean that
Phillips and George will be traveling to Denver too? So like
Sullivan it will be a long interview?

I do hope Cutler does become that franchise QB we wanted for

To me this next season really feels like the last go-around for
Cutler and the Bears. Either he turns it on -- and I mean
big-time, Pro Bowl caliber stuff -- or I think Emery goes
another direction. In fact despite Emery's statements in his
New Years Day presser, I would be shocked if he makes any move
to extend Cutler's contract until at LEAST the middle of next
season when we see how things are working out with Cutler in the
new offense. There are just too many wildcards at this point to
g*mble on extending him at huge dollars for the next 5 years.
I know a lot of folks think we got taken on the Cutler deal and
a fair number even want him to fail... but I would love to see
him finally reach his potential and stay at that level for 4 or
5 more years in a Bears uni. By the same token, if Emery holds
true to his word this is gonna be the offseason we put the rest
of the missing pieces in place for Cutler and if it's still not
happening for him here in 2013 you have to think it probably
never will. Good grief we gave up three quality draft picks for
the guy plus a pretty serviceable backup/borderline starting QB
(a damn site better than Campbell anyway)... how could anyone
NOT want that investment to pay off?

Very highly doubt the window we get with McCoy will be 6 hours
like we had with Sullivan as I believe there is at least one
other team on his dance card for tomorrow and the Broncos are
only allowing him to be interviewed this weekend. Apparently we
will have a longer (by some degree) than the other teams have
gotten or will be getting this weekend though.

You can bash Cutler all you want about his
attitude...mechanics...whatever. The bottom line is he's the
best we've had in nearly 30 years. I can live with his issues.

I dont know, ask Phill, he seems to hate Cutler the most.

I don't think Cutler will ever be a Brady, Peyton Manning or
Brees or Rodgers. He's a better pure athlete and thrower than
any of them but the "special sauce" those guys have just isn't
there.
I do think though he could get himself up into that Eli Manning
/ Ben Roethlisberger tier of QBs (who both have won SuperBowls
BTW), IF he gets (and accepts) sound coaching and gets the
supporting cast he needs.
