Maybe if we're finally at a point where we won't be switching
OCs every one or two years, it will make sense to draft a
developmental QB.
No sense bringing a kid up in a system if it's gonna all be
pulled out from under him as soon as he gets it down.

Our new Knox (and maybe Hester too)?

/>
What's impressing me more than anything out of this is that the
Bears front office is getting roster work done even while Emery
is flying all over the country interviewing HC candidates daily.
That's multi-tasking and efficiency like I haven't seen at
Halas Hall in my lifetime. If we still had Angelo he would be
down in Florida golfing right now.

Another team in the mix for Ariens.
All I know is it's sure nice to go into something like this
feeling like our GM is an asset and not a liability like that
last clown was.

I'd really hate to see #90 go -- much more than I'd hate losing
Urlacher cause I think Pep's still got some left in the tank --
but damn, that's a lot of scratch. Especially when we've gotta
pay Melton, buy a FA O-Lineman (or 2), etc.
The decision that's made on Marinelli and the direction of our D
in general may have a lot to do with how willing Pep will be to
re-work his deal to stick around. And we've got Cliff Stein
who's one of the best in the biz at this stuff so hopefully they
can get something worked out.

Jay Cutler could **** gold bricks and be criticized that they
smelled funny.
[/quote]
Wow you got a serious man crush on Cutler! Well he hasn't
crapped any gold bricks since he's been here and like Brandon
Marshall said so well everybody has to be held accountable on
offense even if it means losing jobs. Well Wonderboy Cutler has
to be held accountable for his.
Before you and the other Cutler excuse makers comes around why
is that when someone speaks the truth about him you all go
bananas? I mean if Campbell or McNown threw bad passes and
INT's in big games you guys would hollering how much they suck
but when it comes to wonderboy it's excuse time!
It's the line. Or it's Hester. Or it's Drake. Or it's Bush.
Any excuse. The only poster who calls out Cutler when he does
bad is JBN!
Listen whether you want to hear it or not Cutler has regressed
in his 4 years here and you should be as tired of seeing throw
bad passes, INT's in big games, holding on to the ball too long,
trying to throw to Marshall with 3 or 4 guys handing all over
him, and making bad decisions. Those are just the facts and he
should be on notice too just like Lovie.
I don't want to see him gone but he has to put forth the effort
that's expected of a supposed franchise QB. I hope he does
that in the off-season because as Marshall said, EVERYBODY HAS
TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE ON OFFENSE EVEN IF MEANS LOSING JOBS.

I would also agree with Emery, Urlacher was starting to put it
together before the hamstring. I'd like to see Url signed to a
two year contract and see if they can get Peppers to sign a 3
and restructure the bonus money. That 16 million is fool's gold
at the end of the rainbow, most never expect to see. I don't
think he is worth the $16 million, what is that 1/10th of the
cap? No way...
Now if Marinelli leaves that could change the equation

and it's awful quiet on the Gruden and Cowher front, isn't it?
I have to imagine there is some feelers out from this guy and I
always pegged Cowher as someone who included the Bear's job as
one he would be interested in. If either of them interview for
any job, they are in. They won't come out of the cobwebs to
join the process without a job offer dangling in front of them

I believe a lot of your angst against Cutler as well as Tice is
because Cutler underperformed and Tice cant coach but your fav
Lovie got canned. A lot of us see that Cutler has to change and
we all hope a new more offensive minded HC can correct a lot of
Cutler's flaws. Yes Cutler needs to be held accountable too. I
think we all agree on that. None of us are happy with the
offense we've seen.

I read that Idonije's contract has expired. So I guess that
would make him a UFA?
He's a good guy and has been a solid rotational player at both
DT and DE. Would hate to see him go but maybe Emery is willing
to let him test the market.
