I think the key to any hire for HC would be OLine coach and OC.
If Trestman were to have the right people to bring with him, to
me he wouldnt be a negative. I personally prefer McCoy who seems
to be ideally adaptable on offense. We need that desperately.

I agree that adaptability is critical in our new HC and/or
       certainly our new OC.
We all saw what happened when Cutler went down this year, and it
would have been even worse if we had ever lost Marshall. We
need an offense that doesn't completely tank if we have to go to
a backup at a key position.
That's why I think you can only go so far in saying we're going
to build the offense around Cutler. Yeah it's got to be
something he can succeed in and plays to his strengths, but
we're not going to have him forever and based on past history we
can plan on him missing at least a couple games next year. So we
need coaches and a system that can accommodate that scenario.

A best-of-both-worlds scenario to me would be Dennison or McCoy
as HC and Trestman as assistant HC/OC.
It would be a demotion for Trestman (who is currently the top
guy in Montreal), but if he wants to get his foot back in the
door of the NFL maybe he'd go for it.
Reportedly Dennison has said he'd take the Bears job if offered.

Arians is a pro's pro, and I hope he kills it in the interview
       with Emery this weekend.
That being said, his name is now being strongly connected to the
Chargers since SD hired Indy's personnel guy to be their new GM
       earlier this week.

A name that's kind of fallen out of the conversation in all this
is Tom Clements. As far as I know he hasn't even interviewed
yet and the impression you get is that Emery has kind of moved
on from him. Besides the fact Emery may be p*ssed at the
Packers stall tactics, I have also heard that Clements is a very
low key personality and not really a leader type and Emery has
made it clear he wants the next Bears HC to be a high-energy,
       charismatic, alpha guy.

Cutler said on his radio show that he thinks Marshall may have
taken Hester out to dinner recently to try and see where his
head is at and help him process the Lovie thing.
Irregardless of whether Hester is back next year or not, if
Marshall really did that it deserves props. That's leadership.
Hester's world class speed is a thing of the past, but he still
has the physical ability to make an impact. It's not like he
had some catastrophic injury and can only run a 4.8 now. Much
like Webb, his biggest issues are psychological. If players
like Marshall and the new coaching staff can rekindle his fire
for the game, it would be great to see him make a comeback next
season. Lovie put this weird mojo on him that convinced him he's
a #1 WR, and the only way to break that is for someone to help
him make peace with his real role on this team and having the
desire to do that the best he can.
If all that's really left of Hester is what we saw this year,
then I've seen enough and it's time for him to go. But I have a
hard time believing he can't salvage 2 or 3 more years as a
returner and VERY limited-use offensive threat IF the conditions
around him change and he gets his mind right. It will be very
interesting to see what approach the new HC takes to that
       situation.

Thats what the Packers want. They want the Bears to move on to
other lesser candidates. They dont want the Bears to hire
       Clements in any capacity

Sorry but this is still just cracking my azz up.
Nobody and I mean NOBODY wants that GM gig with the Jets.
Because they are being forced to keep Wrecks Ryan AND Mark
Sanchez as part of the deal. They have been rejected out of
hand by several candidates and it's pretty clear the only guy
they're gonna be able to get is either some young guy desperate
for entree into the league, or some old guy on his last
go-around who was never any good to begin with and has nothing
       left to lose (Angelo).
Say what you want about Lovie and Cutler but thank goodness
those guys weren't at the level of respect that Ryan and Sanchez
are or we would never have pulled a GM of Emery's caliber.
As for the Jets... top 5 draft pick in 2014 if they hire Angelo.
And we all know how well Angelo does with 1st round draft
       picks...
