It wasn't fun watching him bumble and fumble and run around
trying to pick it up ;D

Emery may be setting too many conditions to draw a really
desirable HC. A well-qualified HC will probably want the
complete freedom to select his own staff.

Cutler is clearly the best QB we have had since McMahon. Not
sure why anyone would think otherwise?

Didn't know the Bears had Jeff George for the 2004 season....he
never took the field but he was on the team.
Interesting.....hmm......

I thought he did take the field..
What the heck is the "Grossman took us to the big dance"? I'm
seriously ROTFLMAO!!!! Grossman had some good games the first
half of the season. After the Cards game he sucked big, Orton
should've started the superbowl. Our D was playing big, they
waned as the season went along as well, but were a big part of
making it to the superbowl..

I'd say Erik Kramer that one year was better than McMahon was,
ever.
But our D that same year was awful.
Seems like the Bears can never put a good D and a good O on the
field at the same time. I'm hoping Emery and the new HC change
that.

And I see that as a problem. We're all hoping. No solid proof as
of yet. And the Bears went from a few coaching canidates to
"lets interview everybody". That could take too damn long.

Statistically, that is true. But Kramer had chances to win
several games at the end and came up short.
And didn't make the pro-bowl.
Guess who did in 1985? Hint: He 13-0 in 13 starts and won 3
games in the playoffs.

question wasn't what are Cutlers problems. It was who since
McMahon have the Bears had they you think is better? As many
problems as he has he is still in my opinion better than anyone
we have had and even if I had a magic wand and could change time
there is none I would transport to now to replace him.

Hey all I did was ask chifan what he based his thoughts on
Cutler. He said something about his physical attributes and I
guess his potential after 4 years here. He mentioned something
about his arm strength as another reason he's the best QB we've
had in the last so many years. I said if arm strength instead
of wins/losses or achievements then REX GROSSMAN had a very
strong arm too. If that's the case and he led the team to a
Super Bowl then that would shoot down his reasoning.
Next thing I know Dallasbear started some rant about freakin'
Trent Dilfer. I didn't read the rest of the post because he
wasn't on track as you just said in regards to the discussion
and obviously didn't get my point.
My point since he obviously missed it was using the reasoning of
"arm strength" isn't a reason to say Cutler is the best we've
had in nearly 30 years. To me it's what have you done on the
field and Cutler has been as mediocre or bad as the QB's on the
list that was posted of all the former Bear QB's.
I had a First Sergeant back in Ft. Eustis VA when I was in the
Army and I remember vividly his stance on "potential". I tried
telling him of a soldier that I felt had the potential to be a
fine soldier and he said that he does have "potential". The
"potential" to be very good or very bad. Using potential also
to me isn't a reason to say Cutler is the best in nearly 30
years.
I still say what Cutler has done on the field should be the
rationale about where he stands as a Bear QB. At least he
hasn't had a 4 or 5 INT game this season.

How do we start over? And where ?
You havent seen this kind of upset in nine years.
It would help to simplify things if we had a HEAD COACH.
We know we have a GM.
