Please, no college coach for the Bears. We need a guy who knows
how to deal with grown men, not boys.
Not to mention that Brian Kelly's record of judgment and
integrity during his time in South Bend has been checkered, to
       say the least.
       Meanwhile...
  HTML http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/07/teams-grumbling-over-breadth-of-bears-eagles-coaching-searches/
LOL. Let em grumble. Emery is doing it EXACTLY the right way
and if he can get some value-added knowledge and advice out of
guys that aren't even seriously in the mix to be hired, more
       power to him.
This should also put to rest the "McCaskeys are cheap" mantra
cause it is costing some coin to fly all over the country for
these visits. OTOH, $15-20K on travel costs to vet a guy you're
gonna be paying several million dollars a year for several
years, only seems like wise investment to me.

I don't want to compare Cutler to guys that played 20 to 30
years ago just like I didn't like comparing Sayers to Payton or
Urlacher to Butkus. The question is whether the Bears can win
       with Cutler at QB now.
Most would say yes and I would agree, but the guy has some
issues with his decision making that concern me. I am not going
to blindly blame the O-line because toward the end the O-line
was playing OK but we weren't pickup 3rd downs and we were
failing in the red zone. Now maybe that was due to Jeffery and
Bennett not being in there or not being full speed or maybe the
loss of confidence Cutler had with Kellen Davis contributed...I
       dunno.
I do know the passing game was horrid this year...and the Bears
need some guys that can get open on routes and a QB who has
faith in them and will throw the short pass when short yardage
       is needed.

Well.. funny thing after the Bears Lions game all of the Fox
Analysts, specifically I remember Howie Long and Jimmy Johnson
agreed the Bears OL was holding the entire OL back.

I don't listen to half time jibberish but did you mean they said
the OL was holding back the offense? Forte had over 100 yards
rushing and Cutler had over 250 yards passing and OL gave up one
       sack to Suh.
The problem was we were getting field goals when we should have
scored TDs...but who's fault is that? The OL, Cutler, the
       wideouts, the TE, the coaches?
Fact is, the Bears did score 26 points which for them is
huge...but they probably should have scored 34.
