You can't compared Monical's to anything Chicago has to offer.
They are totally different foods.
The option in my hometown was Monical's or Pizza Hut. Monical's
won. And really, it depends on who makes the pizza. It's also
the only place in town that let us kids take over after football
and basketball games. :)
At this point, I associate the place with home. I always liked
it, but now I want it cause I can't have it! I keep tellin my
mom to buy the take and bake and freeze it and overnight it to
me! :) She won't! Says its not worth it lol.

Andy, the Monical's are not all the same. When we are in
Paxton, IL, we always stop at Monicals. It is unreal. Same
Monicals, same chain, same pizza in Springfield is crap.
Something is lost in the training of their pizza makers or in
the shipping of ingredients, because not all Monicals are the
same. Some are great, some very very disappointing.

For the record, Rubberfin is referring to the same Monicals I
was...the one in Paxton.
JBN is up in Peoria, so I'm guessing he got lucky and got a good
one, too.

Driving through Missouri on the great move to California, I left
the option up to my fiance...White Castle or Steak N Shake. He
chose White Castle and I've never let him forget it! Thankfully,
I CAN get Steak N Shake in Vegas now, so that at least helps a
bit. It's still a 3 hour drive....but its better than a 4 hour
flight or 30+ hour drive eh? :) It's just another one of those
things I can't have so I miss it (NOT White Castle, I've never
liked that place).
I suppose when we move back to Illinois we will miss In N Out.

I have been to the one in Fort Myers, Florida. I wasn't much
impressed with it. Certainly better than the McDonald/Burger
King type of burgers. Not as good as Wendy's used to be (they
suck now). Not as good as Fudruckers.

I haven't been to 5 Guys either but the other half has. Said it
was ok, nothing spectacular though.
