"Jesmath" strikes me very much as the way they list the ages of
race horses, as all of them always being born on the same day in
any calendar year, or, alternately, the way the British list the
birthday of the sovereign as so-and-such a day, irrelevant of
when she or he was actually born. It is all a convenience
anyway. I read somewhere that the ancient Chinese used to
figure a child was one year old at birth, having gestated for a
       year. So, it is workable.....
       ;D

Close. The Chinese (and many other societies) gave the age of a
newborn as being "in his first year", and then "in his second
year", etc. It had nothing to do with the gestation period, and
was a perfectly fine way to keep track of age, as long as
everyone understood what was meant by it.

Sorry about the virus everyone. That just capped off a couple
months of computer issues over the past month or more. If it's
any consolation, I've deleted my address book so it should not
       happen again.

Just a tidbit. Word is that Albert Pujols has bought a home in
the Springfield area. Ostensible reason is that he has special
needs children and we have one of the best schools in the
Midwest for that. Of course, we tell Cardinal fans that he's
slowly moving toward Chicago. Ticks them off.

Totally random, but wasn't it around this time of year when we
all went to that Cubs game? I know I was still 15 cause I only
had a drivers permit, but I'm pretty sure it was close to my
16th birthday! That was 12 years ago.
