but over a long period of time, I think Dopirak was the only
pure 1b-only bat that they picked in the top handful of rounds.
Now with Matthis in 2024, and now Bailey yesterday, that's two
2nd-round 1B's within three years. Guessing having the DH is
       something of a factor there.

The odds Bailey ever sees the majors are tiny, but when he walks
into one he sure doesn't get cheated.

Interesting Kantro comments about draft day process. I'd always
imagined the team calling agents within the process to ask about
price deal. This suggests they already have gotten price-tags
on everybody prior to the draft, and they stick with those
until/unless the agent makes a call to reduce the ticket price.
I wonder if that's maybe a little different on Day 2, when there
       is less time between picks?

With just Blomker as the only obvious Sunday super-slot guy,
he'd seem to fit under combo of the 5% overslot + Marionneaux
sub-slot. First four picks may all be slot-ish. Fair chance
that HR/K Bailey might also get some overslot?

Bailey's 29-50 when he puts the ball in play this year.

Surprisingly, Keith Law not enamored with the Townsend pick.

Interesting. Taking whacks, guessing, and blasting when you
guess right and missing when you guess wrong, that seems like a
functional approach... when you're putting up huge numbers that
way. Could see a guy cutting back on his swing, or doing less
       guess-hitting situationally, if/when the approach isn't putting
up the huge numbers? I'm guessing also that he's pretty young
and doesn't have that many college AB's. Perhaps their are
coachable, learnable adaptations to cut back on the
       swing-and-miss?
I always assume that pitchers, it's way easier to develop them.
But perhaps there are some developmental things for Bailey that
will be able mitigate his problems?
