When will Steele be ready? Injuries happen. I'm just glad we
have more than Wicks in the bank.

Steele claims that he is basically ready now. More
realistically, I expect to see him in May.

Wicks is realistically like the #9 starter at this point, even
if healthy. Brown/Assad/Rea are all ahead of him, and Steele
coming back in May-June as expected pushes Wicks even further
down the totem pole.
He was a reach when we drafted him and at this point it’s pretty
close to the end of the line. He’s shown little as a reliever
either but I suppose you may as well try him there, as he’s
never going to be a rotation factor for us. Not much point in
trying to deal him when he has little to no trade value.

Notes on Imanaga outing. Obviously his game is location. When
his location isn't good, his stuff is going to get whacked.

Cubs game has completed 3 innings. Cubs down 12-6 after 3!
Taillon scatters 6 more runs over his 2.1 innings, with another
couple of HR. Rollison, who's gotten a little buzz, allows 6
runs in 0.0 innings!
Moises with his first game catching, has an error already. But
he's also gotten two hits.
Carlson is 2-for-2. He's hitting .538 thus far, with 1.392 OPS.
Making an early run at one of the two open bench spots.

2025 5th rounder Kade Snell got into game today and homered.
Cubs placed him in high-A after the draft last year. U of
Alabama guy.

Moises misses a challenge in the 4th, now he's only 3-for-4.
Wiggins pitched two innings, 2K-1BB. Fastball looked very
effecctive, lots of top-of-zone strikes, but they varied some,
whether intentionally or not I don't know. Offspeed stuff
looked really wild, he wasn't locating much. When guys sitting
on fastball, though, even some wild offspeed can get some chase.
Rojas blast a long HR on a hanging breaking ball. He looked a
little uncertain on a throw to 1st, but his arm is certainly
strong enough, almost certainly stronger than Dansby or Nico.
He's a thick, stocky guy. Only 20 years old, he might need to
work on watching his weight over time. But yeah, he doesn't
look too scrawny to hit some HR's.
Triantos hit a deep triple high off CF wall in his 2nd AB, then
hit another that got caught at the top of the CF wall in his 3rd
AB. Would love to have him add at least some useful power,
maybe add some more pull, and just look like he can become a
big-league hitter.

Moises looks in good shape to me. He looks like a lot of
football players.
Hartshorn, batting RH, drove a 1st pitch to the RF warning
track. Will be really interesting to see what he can do.
LH Snell got blown away by a LH pitcher.
