..By the way, can anyone else think of a play where a batter
singled into a triple play?

FWIW I asked Google Ai if ever happened in an official game in
the modern era and it said: “there is no recorded instance of
this occurring in an official regular-season or postseason game
in the modern era (post-1900)”

Jefferson Rojas homered today.
Ben Brown, Javier Assad, Porter Hodge, and Collin Snider all had
no-run outings.
The game was not aired, so no scouting reports.

Brown said a couple days ago he was switching to a Taillon-esque
kick change, and also added a sinker (two-seamer) to his
arsenal. According to reports he threw a bunch of the latter
today and it seems to have been pretty effective.

Brown adding more diversity would help for sure. But just
having his fastball be faster and more effective would also
help.

Having Rojas and Ramirez hit this year would be really fun.
We've sometimes had a lot of young prospects who didn't really
improve that much as they got older. Would be so cool if they
did improve a lot and take a step. And if Rojas showed he can
hit a bunch of HR's. Kinda fun to get some glimpses of some of
these prospects in spring traing.

Arizona Phil:
Jefferson Rojas made four terrible throws from SS in the
first two Cubs games last week (two in each game, one of which
almost got 1B Jonathon Long killed). It looks like he either has
a sore arm or the yips.
Yeah, I'd mentioned the bad Rojas throws earlier. I was aware
of three of them, didn't know he had a 4th one too. One of them
got Long creamed, and Long looked like his elbow was in extreme
pain afterward. Weird, I don't recall scouting from past
listing Rojas as being a super wildman.

Shaw had an E9, but then threw a runner out at home the same
inning.
Thielbar got rocked.
It’s 9-0 Rockies in the 5th. Horton threw two scoreless.
