He may have told them after the super bowl for all we know, it
just wasn't the right time to announce it. The NFL really
doesn't like any other NFL news around the SB other then about
the SB. As Dave mentioned, it could have been way worse, he
could have shown up to the first week of training camp and
decided his heart wasnt in it and quit then.

He took the money and ran and left us out to dry. Stop sugar
coating it, you're either loyal or you're a mercenary and he
voted with his feet what he is.

Ozzy Trapilo LT urgent replacement needed.
Drew Dalman CTR urgent replacement needed.
Tremaine Edmunds LB urgent replacement needed.
Defensive End urgent player needs to be added.
D J Moore the rest of the crew can fill in for this.
A first and two seconds and the third should address these
issues.

Maybe the Lions have an answer to that.
Seems their veteran LOT of 10 years is leaving. Maybe Johnson
can help in that matter.
Why Detroit Lions are releasing left tackle Taylor Decker after
10 seasons

Decker would be familiar with Ben Johnsons scheme. Would he
come here on a short term deal? He was set to make $15M and Det
wanted him to take a pay cut.

Your guess is as good as mine. I just threw it out there because
it showed up on Pat Mc Afee Show.
I tried tracking it down but could not.

Veteran offensive tackle Taylor Decker announced last month that
he plans to play in 2026, but he won’t be back with the Lions.
Decker announced on Instagram that he asked for his release from
the Lions and that he will be leaving the team. Decker wrote
that the request came after the two sides could not “find common
ground” in discussions about his contract that he deemed a
“surprise.”
That suggests the Lions wanted Decker to take a pay cut. Decker
had two years left on his contract and was set to make $14.9
million this season. His release will create more than $11
million in cap space and leave over $9 million in dead money on
Detroit’s cap.
It will also put the Lions into the market for help at tackle.
They could move Penei Sewell to the left side and use their
resources to find a new starter on the right side or opt to keep
Sewell put, but that answer remains unknown in the immediate
aftermath of Friday’s surprising turn of events in Detroit.

Decker at 32 years is long in the tooth.
Better to gamble in the draft and hope we can come up with
another Ozzy Trapezoid at rookie wages.
