Their "president of football operations" doesn't make football
decisions he is a figurehead and has said so. This is DEI BS in
action. It allows them to reward whoever they want to and not
reward others based on something undefinable.

In retrospect, what the Bears should have done was to request a
ruling from the league as to whether or not they would be
awarded the picks. When the league said no, the Bears should
have made a condition of allowing the hire that the Falcons
re-title Ryan's position in such a way that the Bears would get
the picks.

The Bears could have said then it was a lateral move and he
can't leave unless the Falcons trade us picks. But the Bears
never play hardball.

Sue the NFL. If this was Jones or the late Al Davis, there is
no way in hell they would swallow this bullshit. Unfortunately,
George doesn't have the balls and is just focused on Hammond.

Yeah, but you don't want to be "that" team. My suggestion costs
the Falcons nothing and achieves the objective.

Yeah and Blank just handed out the blueprint. Was it in his
mind to screw a team out of picks by splitting McKay's old
position into 2 freakin' presidents? Probably not. And maybe
the Bears should have done a double take and confirm with the
league after Ian first interviewed for the Falcon's president of
football ops job which everyone knew was going to be handed to
an ex-QB figurehead on a silver platter. But it's a copy cat
league in all facets.
