If our concerns are the #3 blocking TE...
We are going in the right direction.

Interesting discussion starting up on twitter ever since
Schefter said that the Bears do not have enough
cash to get Crosby. I really wish that George put
the Bears up for sale as soon as Virginia crossed over. The
McKids are begging for it for obvious reasons. George is
probably waiting for the stadium to bump up the valuation by $2
or $3B.
In the meantime, while it appears that the Bears are quickly
losing precious time to take advantage of the rookie QB
contract, George is buckling up for Caleb's contract which will
dwarf Cutler, Peppers, and Mack's contracts combined. Wright's
floor will be 30 + AAV. I'm thinking we will have to get used
to a more conservative approach in FA next year and beyond even
after they are able to get rid of Dayo, Jarrett, and other
underperformers with lessening dead cap impact.
To Poles credit, the Bears have healthy future cap room ready to
absorb Caleb and Wright's extension as well as some of the young
soon to breakout offensive weapons. I'm thinking they will make
sure Loveland is locked down and will have to decide between
Rome and Luther. Ideally, you hope Poles and the coaching staff
are able to consistently have an impactful draft and replenish
the trenches annually. But that's asking a lot considering how
hit and miss the draft can be from year to year.
But long term the mom and pop shop has got to let go. George
has to sell to let's hypothetically say Chicago resident Lukas
Walton who could have bragging rights over his Uncle Rob who
owns the Broncos. The new owner would have no problem injecting
large guaranteed money into escrow which is required for
expensive but established FA talent The McCaskeys clearly do
not have that flexibility while the salary cap continues to rise
and Caleb's extension looms.

I hate where sports has gone regarding money. Money has totally
ruined college sports. If Caleb keeps playing the way he did
last season (hopefully better) he will deserve a big payday. Bad
thing is that how many players are we gonna have to let go due
to money constraints. The salaries of today's players are just
unreal. They don't even a little bit reflect the salary of the
everyday working person. I love college basketball and I've all
but lost interest. I contribute no money to the NFL, I don't see
that changing anytime soon. I refuse to pay $400 for the ticket.
Free agency was supposed to spread the wealth from the greedy
owners, looks to me that all it did was spread the greed.. Being
a Bears fan my whole life has taught me that one player doesn't
make a team, but good coaches sure make a huge difference..

Reason the Bears cannot trade for Crosby.
DAYO ODEYINGBO.....let that just sink in for a moment.
Sometimes not making a move on FA's is the right thing. Because
when you do then in future, you cannot get the real superstar.

The Raiders already siad they are nolt going to move him now.
Why all the Crosby talk. I never wanted to give up the price to
get him in the first place. He is now damaged goods too? FVCK
THAT!

DA is going to have to do some of his best coaching this year to
get a pass rush. But even with an average defense (they were
bottom 10 in most categories and the eye test) as long as Caleb
is slinging the ball, the Bears can win every game.....

We still have the draft and free agency isn't over. There will
be more cuts. Booker was starting to come on towards the end of
last season. We need a better push up the middle..

If the Raiders struggled and Crosby returns to his old self,
he'll be available by the trading deadline. And if the Bears
are again not getting a pass rush - who knows?
