Dansby on Bregman etc. He's pumped.

Mooney: "And with the expectation that the organization will go
over the $244 million luxury-tax threshold this year, and about
three weeks remaining until pitchers and catchers report to
spring training, the Cubs aren’t finished yet."
Seems like a growing consensus that Hoyer has some spending
ahead, or at least the option. Levine said so, then Kaplan.
Now Mooney with "Cubs aren't finished yet".

In terms of selling the utility role to Shaw, it's probably
helpful to point out that a super utility man has been named a
       World Series MVP.

It also gets him closer to starting. While I doubt the arm is
enough for RF, it certainly plays in LF, and both corners are
       open starting next year.

Why does selling the idea to Shaw matter?

The article makes absolutely no sense. How could he be turning
down some other offer (while still under contract with the Cubs)
in order to remain a Cub? Way too much bullshit on the internet
       these days.

Guessing that with signings of Carlson and Chas McCormick, these
two will be competing with Alcantara for one bench spot.
Also guessing that Carlson has the edge as a switch-hitter,
albeit he’s better from right side. Cubs need lefty bat off the
bench. Alcantara probably loses out for opening day given that
       he has an option left.
So, aside from back-up catcher, Shaw, and Ballesteros—that
leaves just two bench spots: one of the OFers above and Austin
       or Austin upgrade.
If there is a transaction of note to come on position player
side, figures to be an upgrade to Austin. Seems like OF is
       finished.
