Williams, incredibly, is turning into Fields 2.0. Has great legs
to get out of tight spots but can't get the ball downfield
regulary and, again, isn't seeing the entire field. This from a
supposed 'generational' talent....

The Wright penalty, the new left defense end Dayo flagged for
roughing the QB and hands to the face, and the illegal contact
penalty called on the Vikings while the defense held onto Odunze
down the field while the ball was in the air. The pass
interference call when the Vikings receiver fell down and
wouldn't have been anywhere near the ball anyway. All big calls
that went against the Bears and benefitted the Vikings.
Williams has to be better, but he made some toughj throws with a
lot of pressure. Jonah Jackson was getting beat consistently,
we'll see how that develops with the Bears having several back
up choices to consider. Defense looked pretty good for the most
part until they decided to let the running game get going.
Braxton Jones seemed to have a pretty good game.
We'll see how good this Viking defense is, but I tend to believe
much greater than the Lions.

I only saw the first half, taped the second and will watch. But
our all pro LG who didnt play a snap in the preseason, sure
looked like he needed to play a few. Actually the whole OL
looked leaky, lets get that fixed up, which I thought we already
did. Then we can decide if our generational QB is indeed one.

Very disappointing start to the season and a new HC. Just more
of the same. Bears are cursed....

Guess I now have enough anti nausea meds to post.
I suspected it would take half the season to put everything
together with all the new pieces but not this bad out the gate.
I thought Johnson would have discipline buttoned down but with
penalties clearly not.
Even with the new line Caleb was under pressure and McCarthy
largely was not. All phases fail.
Sewell became a glaring liability in the second half as they ran
right through him and he was really weak in coverage. The tight
ends were pretty non existent and I don’t think Ben could adjust
to Flores changes.

Jonah Jackson looked like Sh*T! I think he going to turn out to
be bust, Nate Davis vibes from him. Let's put our rookie G in
there he actually held his own this preseason. Ben needs to
send a message to underperforming players.

Poles likes o linemen who are like him- try hards, good story,
but fails to see that real talent DOES play a factor in how good
you are at that level......

This caused the missed 50 yard FG. Then there was the phantom
pass interference. Year after year this happens.
