Yeah, that was just an awesome run-creation by Berti. Loved
that after stealing 2nd, he just went ahead and stole 3rd too.
thought he was going to be dead meat on the infield-in grounder
by Happ, but man he got home fast and slid in under the throw,
no question.
Agree, Workman looks like he has no chance. kinda different
world that spring training, I guess!
Man, getting a hit would have been nice with all of those
baserunners. Tucker's ball was hit sharply down the line, but
with 1B holding Happ, he snagged it. Could have been a big hit.
Seiya ripped one, but great play by 3B to hold it to single,
thought that was a hit and a run. Dansby hit one sharply too,
thought that one had a chance to get through. An other couple
of runs would have been so helpful.

Workman looks miles off being ready. It was a good gamble but I
don't think it'a going to happen.

Cubs with a heavy focus on small ball. It's great to have that
in you bag for those many days where the weather will limit the
ability to score.

Yeah, good teams win in different ways. Early on, getting the
tie-breaking run on just one hit, double-bunt-sac fly. Second
run, HBP-steal-steal-contact play speed score. A lot of seasons
where Cubs success in scoring guys from 3rd with <2 outs was
below league average. And the high-end defense, that should
help in any situation. That's partly why losing the Sunday game
was frustrating, defense is supposed to be our edge, and to lose
it on both a kinda-poor throw and a flagrant whiff by Turner,
that's not supposed to be how it works for a great-defense team.
It's a long season, though. Thus far, the lineup has been good.
But we'll see. It can change when more guys slump into
auto-out mode.
