Shaw another error, whiffed on a sharp grounder.

Cubs win, Cubs win, over .500. I watched Pearson's inning. he
tried to walk the first guy per normal, but crazy ump gave him a
strike. Then got that batter, and looked really good for a
couple of hitters. Would be so helpful if he could figure out
how to be useful most of the time.

throwing, at 3 levels. 1st, his arm strength is good. Maybe
not Canario or Andre Dawson or Morel, but it's good. 2nd, and
more impressive, he's been accurate, even when throwing off the
run, with imperfect alignments or momentum going in wrong
       direction. 3rd, his preparation/footwork and body-balance
preparation to enable him to get strong throws off really
       quickly is most impressive.

making before the ball hits his glove. I recall Andrew Dawson
having a rocket, but don't recall his pop time being that good
because of crow-hopping and setup. PCA seems to be
extraordinary in optimizing all of that.

PCA is unicorn-good on defense. He excels at every facet except
knowing when not to bomb into someone else's space for balls he
should peel off on. He has a chance to be Vizquel at SS-level
       great out there.

Home opener against Padres on Friday, who have given up only 11
total runs in 7 games and are 7-0.

[Cubs scored] the most runs the A’s have ever allowed in
franchise history in the first three home games of the season,
eclipsing the 31 runs allowed in 1922.

PCA is a ridiculous CF defender. The best one to ever wear a
Cubs uniform. With all due respect to Bobby Dernier and Doug
       Glanville, it isn't close.

Porter Hodge is so. damn. good.
Yeah, Tatis singled, but it was seeing-eye. Hodge made him look
       like a little leaguer.
And now he's just toying with perhaps best contact hitter in
       game, Arraez.
