Cubs get three in the first; A's come back with two. Cubs get
two in the third (with Tucker homering yet again); A's get two
back. Now we add another in the fourth (PCA scoring on a
sacrifice fly) and Sacramento can't get anything in the bottom
half.
Steele has allowed 4 ER through 4 innings but is only at 51
pitches. Hopefully he can settle down and we can add on.

A single and stolen base from Nico puts runners on second and
third, but PCA flies out to end the threat.

Steele gets the first two outs in the seventh, but is relieved
by Merryweather with Brent Rooker coming up. Merryweather gets
Rooker to ground to second and the inning is over.

The A's also get two quick outs and then go for a reliever, and
it works out for them too. Middle of the eighth, 7-4.

Shaw made a very nice play on a short little hopper. Charged,
fielded hopper on the run and threw a strike to 1st. Throw
didn't have Morel velocity, but that was a nice play.

Merryweather only gets that one batter; Hodge is in for the
eighth and he shuts them down easily.

Interesting that after Merryweather wasn't able to get loose
enough to pitch the couple of times in Arizona, that he now got
used back-to-back vs A's. Only faced one batter tonight.
Wonder what's up with his arm, and how long he'll stay healthy
enough to be useful.
