Nate Pearson averaged 99.0 on his 4-seamers in Hanshin game
       today. He hit 100 twice.

Cubs won, 4-2. Taillon carried shutout into the 5th, before
getting pulled and Palencia let one of Taillon's and one of his
own score. Boyd pitched 4 shutout innings, 6K/0BB.

I think that if Hoerner is not ready to start the season, the
lineup last night will be close to what we see on opening day.
       LF Happ
       CF PCA
       RF Tucker
       3B Shaw
       SS Swanson
       2B Workman
       1B Busch
       C Amaya
       DH Suzuki

       Season is about to start!
I'm watching on Japanese TV; the pregame stuff is pretty
impressive. Highlights of both teams' players pretty evenly; a
       Pokemon-themed first ball ceremony.
Starting lineups are being introduced. Kids at home plate there
to greet the players. Fun stuff.

This is a great time slot - 830pm Adelaide time, Cubs should
       play in Japan every day!

Agreed, Boris! Let's have an opener in Australia some time; we
can play the Melbourne Monarchs and the Perth Heat in tune-up
       exhibitions!

And Ohtani starts our season with a grounder to second! Edman
pops one to Busch at first, ranging over toward second, for the
second out. Now Teoscar Hernandez reaches out for a pitch and
can't make contact; swinging strike out to end the inning
       unscathed!

A radio malfunction of some kind keeps Yamamoto and catcher Will
Smith from communicating, and he takes too long to get a pitch
       off; a ball is called.
It works in Happ's favor as he takes an outside 3-1 pitch for
ball four. First baserunner of the season!
       Now Suzuki hits a soft liner to shortstop for the first out;
Happ gets back to the bag. Tucker is up for the first time as a
Cub, and hits a comebacker to Yamamoto, moving Happ to second.
Two outs and a man on second for Michael Busch. Yamamoto throws
him three breaking pitches in a row, and then he flies to center
       to end the inning.
       No score after one.

Mike walks Will Smith to start the second. Muncy works a walk
after a pitch just below the letters and well over the inside
part of the plate is called a ball. Two men on and nobody out.
Now Kike Hernandez, and he pulls a very loud foul into the left
field stands before sending Busch out into right field to catch
a pop-up. Then a foul fly to third and another fly to left
right on the line, and Imanaga is out of the inning!

Matt Shaw coming up for his first at-bat as a Cub. He hits a
hard shot up the middle but the second baseman grabs it and
       throws over for the out.
I see that they've fixed the name and number fonts on the
uniforms; last year they had really small names and our number
       font was a little weird with square-ish 3s and 5s, but they've
fixed it. The names and numbers and that silly little MLB logo
are still positioned too low, though, below the collar which is
       thinner than normal.
And Swanson lines a hit to center for the first Cub hit of the
year! Pete Crow-Armstrong grounds out but moves Swanson to
       second.
Amaya up now. The Japanese broadcast has removed the on-screen
strike zone and honestly I prefer it this way. Now a double to
the right-centerfield wall to bring Swanson in with the Cubs'
       first run! 1-0!
Jon Berti also making his Cub debut. If he gets on here, the
Cubs will have sent jersey numbers 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 to the
plate in the same inning. But he strikes out looking, so number
8 Happ will have to wait.
Still, Cubs take the lead! 1-0 after 2.
