I hope Thuney can maintain close to his level of productivity in
the next couple years. He'll be 33 this November.
Remember when Cody Whitehair's performance declined not long
       after hitting 30.

Hoping Thuney has the same bloodlines as Jason Peters, Bruce
Mathews, and Andrew Whitworth. All productive into their 40's.
Trent Williams is 36, and earned two contracts with the 49ers.
Let's solve this oline once and for all.

We all thought it was solved last year too. Jenkins returning.
New center from the Rams. And we were hoping that Davis could
turn around his off year. Same tackles. New QB - new pro
bowl WR. New 1st round WR.
Pretty much same result that I've seen for the last 50 years
with the Bears offense. Near the bottom.
But this year will be different!

Yes because now we have the rookie head coach everyone wanted,
       or was that Nagy?

Yeah we gotta traverse those waters again.....the 'next hottest
coach' candidate.......we can hope it goes well but it's not
been a great history for us..

This is the first time I can remember them ever hiring the hot
       coaching candidate.
Doesn't mean it will work out, but no one can say that Ben
       Johnson wasn't a hot prospect.
Wanny, Jauron, Nagy, Fox, Trestman, Smith? I am not sure any
were on the level of hype that surrounded Johnson where everyone
in the league considered him a good hire.
Nagy called plays one year and was running Reids system. They
all got hyped after they were hired not so much before.
Maybe Smith or Wanny but I honestly can't remember that far back
if they were a "hot" prospect or not.

No one felt the OL was solved last year. We hoped they would
stay relatively healthy and suck less while Poles bragged about
       that awesome depth.
Wanny was the hot coveted guy in '93 riding Jimmy Johnson's
       coattails and a solid defense.
I'm excited about what Johnson and Caleb can do together. I
couldn't say that about Nagy before his 1st season. Probably
because I was less than lukewarm on Mitch.
