Yeah Garrett's getting to that injury prone age. The one week
twisted ankle now heals in four.
I rewatched the Green Bay victory. Didn't realize that was on
       Virginia's birthday.
Besides a lot of good and bad what stood out was some poor
coaching. I'm not saying it was Thomas Brown's fault but there
were too many mental mistakes. For example on the game winning
drive with about 15 seconds left the Bears were about mid field.
They break huddle late and Odunze and DJ Moore are slow jogging
to the LOS. Caleb sees there's two seconds left when he gets
there so quick snaps the ball. They get a five yard penalty on
Moore for illegal formation because he wasn't set. That's just
laziness not being aware of the clock and situation by the
receivers. Especially Moore should know better.
I;m hoping Johnson doesn't tolerate those things.

It all depends on the OL upgrades.

Was looking at top available free agents
       11. Milton Williams, DL, Eagles
Another Eagle defender with perfect timing, as his two Super
Bowl sacks were a reminder of how overlooked he is. He was Pro
Football Focus' No. 6 graded pass rusher in 2024, which is wild
considering he had only five regular-season sacks and played
less than 50% of the snaps. He's just 25, though, and could have
a high upside if he's not buried behind players like Jalen
Carter and Jordan Davis. He's not a great run-stopper, though,
so a new team would be betting on the upside of his pass-rush
       skills.
I could see Williams being a good rotational player with
Billings. Billings can stop run and did pretty well as a rusher
but let's save Billings for run stopping situations and add
       Williams for passing situations.
       19. Jevon Holland, S, Dolphins
It's been an up-and-down career for Holland, who has played in
four different defensive systems since coming into the league.
Under Brian Flores in 2021 and Vic Fangio in 2023, Holland
earned PFF grades of 84.7 and 90.4 — both exceptional. But under
Josh Boyer in 2022 and Anthony Weaver in 2024, Holland scored
poorly: 72.3 and 63.0. Miami and Holland might feel like a
change of scenery is best. He still has the potential to be one
of the league's best safeties. Maybe in Philly with Fangio?
I watch a lot of Dolphins games as I live in Florida and my best
friend is Dolphins fan. Holland would be an upgrade over Byard.
Also he is 24, turning 25 in March, he is in prime of his
career. Also I think Brisker is not worth signing to second
contract due to his health issues.
       25. Drew Dalman, C, Falcons
Dalman, 26, missed half of 2024 with an ankle injury but should
be seen as the best center in this free-agent cycle. PFF graded
him as the NFL's No. 4 center. But Atlanta won't have much cap
room and is already paying three offensive linemen $14 million
or more in 2025. His new deal won't be that high, but should top
       $10 million a year, a nice haul for a former fourth-rounder.
       59. Zach Ertz, TE, Commanders
Ertz, 34, finished 2024 within one touchdown catch of a career
high, getting seven in his first year with Washington after
totaling eight in three seasons in Arizona. He's still a
reliable, high-volume target and he built a quick rapport with
Jayden Daniels. It makes sense he'd return to the Commanders,
perhaps for a bit more than the $3 million he made this past
       year.
I think Caleb would benefit from having a sure handed second
veteran at TE. I would also draft a 3rd TE for developing to
replace Ertz after a year or two. Obviously this would be a
short term deal. Adds veteran leadership to a young locker
room. Get rid of Everett and Lewis.
If you signed these four players. Here are the draft picks that
should come in and make immediate impact.
       1-10
       2-39 (from Panthers)
       2-41
       3-72
I would draft DE, LT and two OG with my first four picks. I
would also draft WR, RB, TE, and S with the last 4 picks.

Hiber - Nice, appreciate the post and opinions. It seems in
general that Braxton Jones is out of favor with a lot of fans,
I'd be interested in hearing what Pro Football Focus or similar
research thinks about our current components on the oline,
namely Jones, Wright, and Jenkins. Jones has been durable
except this past season, and can't really say the same about
Jenkins. I just worry about a divorce from Jenkins just when he
finds the Bactine for his owies like Marco Columbo did who
played several full seasons are being injury prone with the
Bears. I also believe Jenkins best position is right guard next
       to Wright
Back to Jones, is he in the lower tier of tackles? Could he
kick inside to left guard? Those are questions I want explored,
before we cut bait and move on to the next shiny object of
       potential.

I'm as jacked as I've been about this team since probably the
       glory days...

Yes it was very well done. Now if we can just land some studs
in FA and the draft, and coach everyone up, things could really
       be looking up.

I hope they can find a way to hang on to Bagent. He's not the
talent that Williams is, but if Williams went down for a game or
two, I think Bagent has the talent to get the team through. How
many times have we witnessed a serious hack come in as a
       backup..
