Veteran QB Case Keenum is signing a one-year deal worth up to $3
million with the Chicago Bears, per source. Keenum now will help
mentor Caleb Williams in Chicago like he did for CJ Stroud in
Houston.

So I guess Ben Johnson wasnt comfortable with Austin Reed and
Tyson Bagent as back ups.

I don't think many teams are comfortable with the backups, but
Keenum will be under both Williams and Bagent. I'd love to see
more of Bagent and Reed in the preseason to see what they have.
Bagent may have some trade interest, as the offseason wears on.
I don't think he is satisfied just carrying the clipboard, he'll
be looking for an opportunity when his contract expires at the
end of the season.

The Chicago Bears runnng game lost a step in 2024 because they
were getting tackled in the backfield. Swift went from 4.6 to
3.8 y/c.
RJ's average was way down in '24. Yeah, part of that was the
return from the concussion. But he wasn't part of the rotation
and saw action often only in short yardage situations where he
was asked to pickup a tough yard or 2. And he did so quite
well. He had the same number of rushing TDs as Swift (6) in
over 100 less runs.
