I remember all the years of this day in the year and someone
would post” why aren’t the Bears signing anyone?”. Then the
response would be “ Pace (or insert name) doesn’t want to
overpay “
Well that’s out the window. I just hope they have enough next
year to sign guys they need to keep like Gordon.

He'd be perfect but there could be demand that drives his price
up. Maybe someone less pricey but the Bears have to stock up
the WR group and the draft will probably only add 1 at most.
I go back in forth about staying at 10 vs trading down and
pickup up another 3rd. The ideal is a trade down of a couple or
so if you have a list of equialent players at 10.
Bears need at least 4 current or future starters out of this
draft. It rarely happens in chicago.

They HAVE to build a winner. Half the family wants to sell and
to get the best price they need a new stadium.
A winning team with a new stadium gets them a whole lot more
cash.

To give the Bears credit for their honesty, it was reported that
part of the reason for season ticket price increases were for
them to be active in free agency. They certainly spent the
money.
