If Schefter's call is right, so much for a fast start. Bears at
       Eagles opening night.

Dang! Dallas game is in Chicago.
Not an easy schedule based on 2024 - but if the Bears will be a
good team the opponent won't matter.

I fully expect a bad start- new staff etc etc. It will take
about 6-7 games to really see where this team is going (although
you can usually say that every year)....

Fine, I'll chug the Kool-aid. Maybe next season will be 2018
with more staying power. Or the '24 Commies. Worst to firsts
happen all the time in the NFL.

It all depends on the OL upgrades.

The Chicago Bears have several needs to address this offseason,
most notably in the trenches. While the offensive line has
garnered the most attention, and rightfully so, Chicago also
needs to shore up their pass rush, and there will be options in
a variety of ways -- free agency, the NFL draft and even a
       potential trade.
In a new mock draft from Pro Football Focus' Trevor Sikkema, the
Bears don't actually make a selection at 10th overall. Instead,
they go all-in on trading for Cleveland Browns star edge rusher
Myles Garrett and upgrading their pass rush in a huge way.
The Browns use that No. 10 pick to select Texas offensive tackle
Kelvin Banks Jr., who is a popular pairing with the Bears during
       this pre-draft season.
Browns edge defender Myles Garrett officially requested a trade
and was on a bit of a media tour during Super Bowl week to
discuss his preferred destinations — namely, Super Bowl
contenders. After a disappointing 2024 season, the Bears can go
all in by addressing one of their few team needs. As for
Cleveland, the team can get a nice haul for a player who clearly
wants out, acquiring the 10th pick in this year's draft. By
drafting Hunter at No. 2 and Banks at No. 10, they would secure
two very talented players at impactful positions for their
       upcoming rebuild.
In PFF's hypothetical trade, the Bears send the Browns their No.
10 pick and a 2026 first-round selection in exchange for
Garrett, which is quite costly for a team looking to build
through the draft. But they would be landing a Defensive Player
of the Year that would elevate the weak point of an
       already-talented defense.
Still, it's unlikely that Chicago would trade for Garrett, no
matter how talented, considering they're more than one player
       away from being a contender.

No F'ing way do the Bears trade for Garrett. He's 29 and
probably has a few good years left. But two number 1s?
