Swift was more off than he was on. They definitely could use
another back. If there's a top one sitting there, it would be
hard to pass.....but they need OL very badly.

I had Swift on my fantasy team as a Lion. He rocked. He will
work out just fine with Johnson. But we still need a bruiser
       like Montgomery as well.

Was saying the same thing. Roshon is a nice try hard guy, but
two concussions now. Not a good sign for longevity. AJ Dillon
is out of contract, but was on IR all year with a neck injury.
You need a stable of running backs, because they will get
dinged. The best teams rotate out their starter, but it seemed
we stayed committed to just running with Swift. Then dealt
Herbert for a bag of chips.

Herbert was about the same as Swift running the ball - maybe a
stronger runner than Swift and just as fast. Herbert was pretty
bad as a pass blocker and nothing special as a receiver.
Dealing him for a 6th actually worked out since the Bears really
didn't use him and now he's a FA.

That was kind of my point. We didn't use him, while other teams
found ways to spell Henry, Montgomery, etc. You have to have
someone share the load a bit.
And it was a 7th round choice. But it is something.

We have continually had sh!t for coaching. Lovie was the closest
thing we had to competent coaching. A competent coaching staff
can take a group of mediocre players and assemble a competitive
team. At the same time, a sh!t coaching staff can bumble through
the season with good quality talent.. Last season, if we had a
decent coaching staff, I think we could've had a respectable
standing by season's end, maybe not playoffs but maybe a 9 win
season. Thank god we didn't, and we got rid of Eberflus.
Eberflus was in over his head...

Much more often then not a first down run by Swift was followed
by this from the announcers 'Bears now face second down and
       nine'. No hole - nothing.
Yeah, Swift didn't fight hard as a lot of runners for that extra
yard but the guy was often tackled in the backfield. Bears can
nab a halfback on day 3.

Let's see what FA and the draft bring, but I wouldn't be opposed
to it. His value is diminished by not being a special teams
performer, though he can return kickoffs.

If Campbell and Banks are gone, is 10 too high for Booker?
