Yeah...unless the Astros asked for him as a big part of a Tucker
trade, trading Suzuki shouldn't even be considered.

That did occur to me.

Tucker is a terrific player but trade for a pending free agent
like him?
Sure, if you’re exchanging him for another pending free agent or
maybe a Suzuki two-years-away from free agency. But not keen on
trading away top prospects.
By the way, in 247 PAs, Tucker’s post-season slash line is
.229-309-376. Hasn’t hit in post-season.

Some guys just aren’t as comfortable with the “flow” of the game
if they aren’t engaged the whole game.
DH isn’t for everyone…

Ricketts cheerleader site BN unironically cites Hoyer's defense
of the Darvish trade to defend a potential Seiya trade:

What kind of spending is it that causes you to want to trade
your best hitter and potentially do significant damage to the
strategic Japan-US talent pipeline you were building?

If Suzuki is pissed about DH-ing that may already have done
damage to that pipeline, unfortunately.

I think this may be rather overblown. Hoyer should be doing
due-diligence, and talking to the no-trade-clause agent. Hardly
means he's trying to trade him. Of course every player would
like to think they're good enough to be a two-way guy, Seiya
preferring to be that is only natural. Who doesn't have
something about their job that isn't totally ideal, are we all
selfish or quitters? Obviously when he was a FA, he'd have
preferred a team that would use him in the field.
But I think it's curious that Wolfe goes out and tells the media
these comments. To what purpose? To make Cubs fans like Seiya
less? That doesn't make sense. To try to facilitate a trade to
the Dodgers? Seems weird.

Occam's Razor certainly suggests that if Wolfe is saying these
things to the press it's because he wants to encourage a trade.

Suzuki and Sasaki have the same agent.
