Tucker would have lost 4 in 2024, but that was an outlier year
for Wrigley.
Further, Tucker has significantly more power than Paredes, and,
as a lefty, cares a lot less about the Crawford Boxes in
Houston.

maybe swap in Ben Brown? <--- Nonstarter, sorry.

Only way I swap in Brown is if the injury stuff is scary enough
the front office no longer believes in his ability to stay
healty as a reliever. Otherwise, agreed.

All this said, it's fair to step back a moment and reflect that
Jed turned Morel into Paredes earlier this year, a move I did
not like, but looks pretty good in near-hindsight.
If the Cubs felt this was the likely outcome for Morel, the
opportunity to turn that and Suzuki into Tucker feels like a
pretty good exchange.
Now, if the reports that the Astros are also asking for Shaw or
Smith are true, they can go pound sand.

Don’t forget Bigge was part of that deal.

Screw that, I still think he can be a front-end starter.

Heh heh, yeah, that was my instant reaction too! Like Brown vs
Wesneski are almost interchangable? Sorry, Greg, I don't think
so!

I have essentially zero interest in one year of Tucker and we
all can reasonably guess that that is all Chicago would get.
Hard pass.
