Seiya is targeted in possible Tucker trade. Cubs are highly
unlikely to trade him. Perhaps because an actual Cubs-Tucker
trade is highly unlikely. But in the highly unlikely event that
it did happen, perhaps Suzuki would be a part of it? If so,
then the Cubs wouldn't need to be sacrificing any prospects.

It’s going to take more than 2 years of Seiya for one year of
Tucker.

"Any" was the wrong word. But you shouldn't need lots of elite
prospects to supplement 2 years of Seiya for one rental year of
Tucker. The prospect price wouldn't need to be very painful, I
wouldn't think.

In that case I agree, including either Paredes (certainly the
lesser player but with 3 years of control and tailor-made for
their bandbox) or Suzuki should dramatically lower the prospect
cost. If it’s both, no prospects at all.

It shouldn’t be both.
Or, if it is, there had better be assets coming back with
Tucker.
That's my thought. If the Astros are demanding that
just for Tucker, they can fly a kite, but if it's a bigger
package...

And as soon as the deal was done, I'd go after Bregman.

Were it 2 years of Tucker (we’d have to include more, likely) ,
or if trade were extension-dependent I could get behind Paredes
+ Seiya, but only then.

At his contract ask, don’t think I like Bregman.

Callis plus Workman in at #29 on the Cubs’ prospect list.
Workman is more utility guy than regular, but he's a
plus defender at third base coming off the best offensive season
of his career. Feels like a longshot to make the @Cubs unless
they open some roster spots via trades.

If it means no prospects, I would give them Suzuki and Paredes.
It’s only one extra year for Suzuki and Tucker is a true elite
talent. Paredes has three years of control but we have the
pipeline to replace him, and I’m not sold that his game plays at
Wrigley.
