40-man roster is full at the moment.

Cody Bellinger would be a great fit for Yankees since he’s very
good at 1B and very solid in CF, too. But for now there’s a gap
on the $. Cubs don’t want to eat any of it, Yankees think they
should. Bellinger is guaranteed $52.5M over 2 years with an
       opt-out after 2025.

“The Cubs are a strong possibility at this point,” MLB Network
       insider Jon Heyman said Wednesday.
The Yankees are another club in hot pursuit of Tucker, but
Heyman added, “It feels more like a Cub deal than a Yankee
       deal.”

"Almost entirely on trade stuff, very little in free agency this
       week."
Jed Hoyer when asked about the Cubs' method of acquiring
       players.

Easy solution. Cubs can toss in some $$ to help Yankees' budget
focus; Yankees compensate by adding in extra minor league value.
Draft picks, international $$, young prospects who won't take
40-man spots and aren't btop-100 guys, but upside guys who the
Cubs think could develop into useful players. Ben Hess, the
       Illinois kid, for example.

Sharma and Mooney made it sound like either Paredes or Suzuki
plus prospects, not Paredes and Suzuki for Tucker. They also
mentioned the chances of the Cubs trading Suzuki are low.

Tucker is a GG right fielder so if that's the case it's DH or
bust for Seiya. Apparently that's an issue that can't be
       dismissed.

It sounds like the Cubs want to rotate the DH spot. So if they
ended up with Tucker, I suspect they'd rotate Tucker, Happ, and
       Suzuki through the DH spot.
Since Happ came up as an infielder, I wonder if they'd consider
giving him some time at 1B in Spring Training. If he could take
a few starts there, that would open up an OF spot for Suzuki
       more often.

So who plays third base if Paredes goes in a Tucker deal? Not
that it should impact the trade in any way, but an open
       question.

They can give lip-service to that, but Happ and Tucker are both
Gold-Glovers and Suzuki (disappointingly after winning multiples
of the NPB equivalent) has been pretty bad. Easy to see how that
       will play out.

I asked my wife who knows nothing about baseball other than she
thinks Chipper Jones and Tony Vitiello are sexy if it was smart
to trade 3 or 4 young players who are several years from free
agency for 1 year of a star player and even she said no.
