Mastrobuoni with HR and a double. He had a .347 OBP 2nd half,
.730-OPS. I think he's a guy who might settle in during this
second year, and might be an internal-improvement guy. Given
that Tauchman may be the only other LH bench guy, it wouldn't
shock if Mastro possibly ended up out-producing Tauchman, and
perhaps getting a share of DH opportunities? Who knows!

If he's our primary DH we're in for a long year.

A Keegan Thompson sighting! 1 inning, no runs, 1 hit, no BBs, 1
K.

1 ER on 4 hits in 3.1 for Wicks today, but 0 Ks (3 in 8 IP so
far this spring). That is a concern with him going forward -
his K-rate has to come up or it's certainly going to limit his
upside.

Alcantara-PCA-Canario left to right is a fun outfield.

Kilian leaves after giving up a leadoff single in the 3rd…after
a trainer visit.
Didn’t look like anything serious, fortunately…

Watched a couple of slices of game. Brown looked great. Lively
fastball was around the plate, breaking ball was excellent. Got
lots of easy grounders.
Shaw was at 3rd, he made a terrific play backhanding a ball down
the line, and getting off the Swanson-like one-hopper to 1B.
Little's stuff is relly good, couple of K's. Got a high pop
behind 1B, [s]Busch[/s] Mervis went out, called it, but
misjudged it and missed it by a couple of feet.

If Brown can command the fastball he’s a big-league starter, no
question. Stuff is absolutely electric. That’s a big if, of
course.
I don’t think anyone doubts Shaw has the range and hands to play
3B. The huge question is the arm.

I believe that was Mervis and Strumpf who misplayed the high pop
behind 1B…
